'25 TN QB George MacIntyre (Tennessee commit)

The athleticism talked about in this article….I think it’s why Heup coveted Nico so much (obv also being highly rated as well as GMac) bc you could see during Iowa game that the natural ability to take off when things break down to keep the drive going and momentum rolling. Just like HH did.
I’d dare say this is why it’s reported they have prioritized Faizon Brandon over Jared Curtis in the ‘26 class.

Even from Merk’s 247 scouting report:

An athletic quarterback prospect with a multi-sport background….Mobile and quick enough to turn a scramble into a chunk play

Heup definitely has a type.

Watching his film, he plays somewhat similar to Nico.

Neither one is extremely fast but has enough mobility to escape pressure when needed.

Nico might have been a bit more athletic at this stage but George is no slouch in that department.

It’s not hard to see why Heupel made him his #1 priority.

The same Jalen Milroe that ran straight into his OL's back on 4th & Goal from the 5 with a Natty on the line? Dude is the prime example of an athlete playing QB.
Bama’s blockers got owned on that play. Left tackle and TE destroyed and pulling RT whiffed, if I recall accurately

Actually, if you watch it again closely, the snap was low and he basically didn’t give his blockers time to get into position.

However, it was still a bad call regardless.

Piss on Jalen Monroe. I didn't like how he called out McBrian to the media, you gotta keep that talk in house.i bet Saban didn't like it either. He showed me, he should have maybe played another position besides QB against Michigan. GBO
Milroe is one of the most likable players in college football. I'm glad he said what he said re: O'Brien, as long as it's the truth. That kid deserves a lot of credit for how far he's come, especially with insane Bama fans howling at him for much of this year and past offseason.

Now Jermaine Burton is a garbage human.

Havent watched Brandon yet, but Curtis is Manziel league as a runner, he's gonna be outstanding if his sophomore year is any indication

Ole boy Tommy Rees did a fantastic job with Jalen Milroe this season.

Turned him from an "athlete" into a Heisman caliber QB.

Heupel isn't the only guy that knows QBs.
I'm just saying that because it seems like too often we seem to put Heupel as the only offensive minded coach that is QB friendly.
with all the 5 stars at bama hell Ii could polish a turd to win 8 to 9 games. Do not be overly enamored with Milroe for it is home run or nothing or a run. He still has a way to go. Make all the throws not just be fast and I throw it far.We just went thru that season.

He may be a great dude but unless him and O'Brian hate each other, like got heavy beef, you don't leak **** and throw coaches under the bus to the press. I'm old school though. JMO. And I'm a little biased but fU&k Bama and all their players, bunch of likable inbreds imo. GBO

I’m pretty sure it was an RPO, but he never looked to throw. The RB was going to have a much better chance at outflanking the defense or breaking a tackle.

No offense to GMac, but Nico was the #1 volleyball player and rated as high as the #1 football player on On3. GMac will likely never touch Nico's athleticism, and I just think Nico's athleticism is in the top .001% of D1 football players in the past decade.

I think Rees game plan and calls throughout the game were poorly designed and didn’t have much flow.

Probably one of Saban’s biggest mistakes as the HC for Bama.

Didn’t seem like he was a good fit from the start.

"The No. 15 prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings is likely done with visits before he puts his name on a commitment list.

“I am praying about it, talking it over with my family and trying to figure out a timetable for my commitment right now,” MacIntyre told On3. “I feel like I have seen everything in any school I have wanted to check out, so I don’t think I need anymore visits before I make my decision. Nothing is set yet, but I feel like I am at a good spot in my recruitment. A decision is coming pretty soon.”

In October, MacIntyre named his top 10 schools. He did take a visit to UCLA in the fall, but the frontrunners have been Alabama, LSU and Tennessee for some time. Those three remain the ones to watch. MacIntyre confirmed when he commits, it will be to one of those SEC programs.

“It has been those three [schools] for me for a long time. They all want to win, win, win, but they are different schools in my mind.

“Alabama is about winning. They are still the standard of college football in my mind. LSU has that track record of developing quarterbacks. Tennessee is about the explosive offense and how their team is always led by the quarterback.

“Alabama, LSU and Tennessee are all great schools, but I don’t see a lot of similarities.”

MacIntyre is not ready to put a date out just yet, but he will put a Crimson Tide, Tiger or Vols hat on at a ceremony soon. It could be January, maybe it gets to February, but a decision is nearing.

“I have always visited those three schools, but two have always stood out,” MacIntyre said. “It is a one-on-one battle between two schools and it is very tight between those two.

When I pick between those two, the head coach will matter a lot. Then the family feel, fit within the system and the culture are other key factors.”

This reads Vol, especially what I bolded. Saban is nearing the end. So if it’s down to coaches, my bet is actually it’s between us and LSU, not us and Bama. Then you look at the next part regarding family, what is Heupel’s biggest pro when it comes to recruiting? Literally every recruit says he’s likable and “preaches a family mentality”. Those aren’t things you hear about with BK.

But I’ve been wronged in the past so staying optimistically pessimistic on this one: hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

His friends have said he likes LSU more than Bama. Fwiw…….
