'25 TN QB George MacIntyre (Tennessee commit)

The defense sh!t the bed from opening kickoff in the Florida game. So did the OL, but somehow it was all Joe according to many. I also noticed that you have been frequenting the FF, so I'm sure you've seen those that were unimpressed with Nico in the bowl game. I know you yourself have stated multiple times that you think Merklinger could overtake Nico in fall camp. You still feeling that way?
I said he would give him a true challenge.

It will STILL be a true QB competition.

The bowl game obviously helps with the trust factor with the coaches.

Nico should have played a lot more, but Joe Milton could only put 37 points against the likes of Austin-Peay..
Joe was awful vs Florida too.
But yes the defense was extraordinarily bad that day...

Bammer is disreputable while LSU is a little shakey, so I like our chances. Tennessee's offense is a high-talent QB's dream.

He may change his mind if we can’t get an o-line that’s worth something. If mays and Spraggins weren’t coming back we would be screwed
We just had one of the top offensive line classes in the country. Y'all act like the sky is falling every time we miss out on someone. This class of linemen will be juniors before he even sees the field.

If guys with remaining eligibility (you left out Campbell as well) leave early then it could cause talent gaps in a position room, especially when talking OL, for just about every single team in the country save for UGA and Bama. And still causes headaches for them.

Spraggins is coming back?

And I agree if Mays wasn't coming back there is no quality replacement that I've seen on the roster.

So it seems it's down to us two, us (Tenn) or Bama... I personally feel like he commits to us. I think the relationship with Heup and staying home wins out.

But allow me to play devil's advocate, if he picks Bama. Does that mean we go all in on Madden?? Or would we pursue anyone else, as you need your QB in the class early to help recruit rest of class.

Madden looks like a baller. Wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. But no clue if staff has a different plan B

I think we land GM. Would be surprised if we didn’t.

keep in mind, like most I am confident we land GMac, feels like it’s been trending that way for a while. But never count out Saban… so that’s why I asked if he chooses Bama, is madden our only other option. I don’t mean that negatively, if GMac, wasn’t an instate kid in a crucial in state 25 class. I would be all over Madden.

I think Madden will blow up in camps in spring / summer with a strong senior year. I think he could end up as a top 5 QB in the cycle.

I think as long as we land one of these two we will be fine. I just haven’t heard any other names. All the eggs in the GMac basket, rightfully so looks like it will pay off. I’m excited about the talent that Heup/Halzle are recruiting at, at the QB position.

After talking to several sources, the intel indicates that Tennessee is in the best position to secure a verbal from MacIntyre who is definitely in decision mode with a commitment that could come in the very near future....The way that Josh Heupel has rebuilt the Vols program, the offense, the energy from the fans and the opportunity to come in and take the reins from Nico Iamaleava, who just finished the first of what is definitely a three-year plan in Knoxville, is very exciting for MacIntyre. The in-state pull is definitely real in this recruitment.
