'25 TN QB George MacIntyre (Tennessee)

Here's the difference. Watching Bishop Gorman and Utu and this high caliber High school team put GMAC in as QB and yesterday he throws for 300+ and 3 TD's and everyone is Wow what a talent. Just trying to put things into perspective of what having a OL in front of you means. In CHRIST Alone

Try explaining that to LittleVol who has prob only played a few snaps of football in his life and thinks QBs are superheroes

I like George. Good kid.
Has tons of talent. All the tools..........

The "play calling" "bad OL" and "receivers can't get open" were the same excuses that were spewed last year (with a different staff) It's not just one game.
It's just my opinion............there is something missing. Almost too laid back. Maybe read too much hype in himself? IDK.

He's got a chance to be great, but I don't think he's a guy that comes in and competes in year one.........or two.
He’s either gonna sh*t or get off the pot, because that kid coming in behind him is prime time.

Didn't see the game, so my opinion has nothing to do with Gmac's performance in his last game, However, I felt we made a mistake when we passed on Deuce. :( He really wanted to come here ,and now he will probably go to Auburn. I have always thought that dual threat QB's make it so much more difficult for the opposing defense.
Deuce is trash, world class athleticism with a B-level arm. Give me George with Heup development.

I think ppl in this thread are very confused on the concept that football is a team sport…
So his teammates made him throw late and into double coverage? Which teammate forced him to throw what should have been a pick 6 into the flat with no pressure on him in the 4Q? Which teammate forced him to throw the final INT into double coverage that wouldn’t have been completed even if the interceptor hadn’t been there?

If you watched that game last night and thought he looked like a star QB, I’m not sure what you were watching. I’m sure Heupel sees a lot he can work with…he seems to love the kid. And he knows how to develop QBs. So I’m not writing him off at all. But it’s completely fair to point out that he was less than impressive last night. Because he was less than impressive last night. Some of y’all think telling a truth you don’t like is a sin.

Nah man these guys have knowledge and years of experience recruiting and evaluating high school talent. They even know more than Heupel and Company. Lol
Who wrote him off? He played poorly last night. That’s a truth. It’s not writing him off. Sorry it’s a truth you don’t like, but that doesn’t mean you get to impute “writing him off” to posters who did no such thing.

Like I said last night he has things to work on just like every young QB does and even older ones. Just like when watching Peyton throw the same interception in College and in a Super Bowl QB's sometimes make wrong decisions. But to the point Mac has incredible Talent that needs to be Coached Up and his OL 2 straight years is horrible. His Sophomore year he had a good OL and he was comfortable in pocket. It's all good 👍. Anyone who has ever read a post by me, knows that I am the fartherest person from being a "nega", "realist", armchair coach, one to question Heupel about Every. Single. Thing...I am the complete and total opposite of that, and everyone here knows it. I love our coaches...I support our coaches...and, I have never been one to "melt down" because of a loss, a season, a coaching decision, or anything in-between, etc etc. I don't melt, people.

In no way am I writing GM off, or questioning Heupel's decision for pursuing him. All I posted was, the kid looked like sh!t last night...because the kid looked like sh!t last night, period
Although I'm not a "realist...hope I'm wrong" person, I'm not going to sugar coat outright bad, neither.

For those that want to know why I said something about his leadership, those that DIDN'T watch the game...I said what i said because I DID watch it. His poise was not good...his composer was not good, period point blank. A QB can't be screaming at his teammates/his WRs one play, and throw a HORRIBLE interception the next play. The kid threw two picks last night, and threw about three or four other balls that should have been int's; one that should have been a pick-6, the DB dropped it. And, he feels he can BARK at his teammates?? Yes, the QB is the leader, no doubt...the person who is supposed to set everyone straight; but, better have your own self straight first.

I am well aware it was "only one game". I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, suggesting we drop GM, or Heupel has made a mistake. All I'm saying is...I was, in no way whatsoever, impressed by the kid last night, least of all his poise and leadership. Again, for those in the back, I realize it could have been just a terrible game, for all involved. It happens...some nights, it just isn't there, and one would've been better off staying at the house. Last night was either one of those nights, or the kid is what he is. Idk. I just know what I saw last night, and that's what I posted about. The ONE THING I do know, however...I trust Josh Heupel. So, if he's happy, especially about a QB, I am happy, as well.

Not having a even average OL can affect a QB, if rushed sometimes you make a bad decision. He is a bright spot on a otherwise less than stellar team. I'm sure his ranking will take another hit because that team will not win many games. 2 guys stood out #3 and GM. Very weak OL, DL. Thos two things together and you lose a lot of games

People writing this kid off already is delusional
Even if Brandon turns out to be the truth there is very little chance he starts from day one.

Coaches almost never start true freshmen anywhere anymore, especially in the portal era, and even less so at the most important position on the field, QB.

Even Peyton didn’t start as a true freshman until the Colquitt and Helton injuries forced him in

Question are you at BA practices and know their offense like the coaches and players do? Because WRs running wrong routes or OL not blocking their assignment are things you have no clue about by “just watching” usually. While you are not being a “nega” by stating your opinion that doesn’t mean it won’t be questioned knowing what I have seen from him his sophomore year when he had a good team around him.

His drop was supposed to have been due to not attending camps.
I'd have to find it but him missing camps and then I believe the last one he attended with the other top guys he looked like absolute dogsh*t.Thats when the dropping him rumblings started but it was a wait n see thing. Then the next camp he wasn't healed or hurt his hand iirc and didn't show thats when they dropped him.I hate most recruiting sites but i feel they gave him every chance to prove them wrong and he just couldn't get it done...

Two things can be true:
(1) it’s extraordinarily suspect that a “five star” qb can’t elevate his team to win in high school. BA had their worst season in school history last year, and then open the season with a loss this year. It’s unusual. Might not just be “the coaching” and George’s current ceiling might be much lower than we thought a year ago. He could be more of a project than previously thought. Which is ok
(2) yeah I trust heupel’s eval and I’m not losing sleep. Heupel’s Qb track record speaks for itself. George could come to UT as a three star and I believe Heupel could make him a productive SEC QB

I was thinking the same. I'm very pleased to have him as a commitment. The supporting cast must be really below BA norms, or G Mac is not able to make up the gap to be a difference maker in wins and losses.

25mph wind at the camp would do that to any QB…
