'25 TN QB George MacIntyre (Tennessee)

When George committed he was the #9 overall player (247) and #15 overall player (ON3). In fact, he was the 14 highest rated UT recruit OF ALL TIME with an average recruiting ranking of .9917 according to all sites.

I think many are interpreting any comment about George not playing up to his five star billing he was given a year ago as “giving up on him”. I am not “giving up”, I’m just adjusting expectations based off what we are seeing on the field over the last 13 games he has started.

He is probably not a generational or top QB in a class type of guy. But he can still be a developmental guy with tons of upside and athleticism, lots of tools - but it’s not generational potential like we see with Nico or Faizon.

Hope the best for the kid. He is one hundred time more athletic than myself and hope he makes a ton of money doing this.

Just my opinion.

It no way are folks on here “giving up”. It’s just an observation (and opinion at that), and it’s all gonna be ok. Hope the best for the kid.
He’s definitely one of the top QB’s in this class.

He’s unfortunately tasked with making things happen on a team that doesn’t have players to support him. Pair that with BA’s schedule and it’s going to be difficult.

Which teammate forced him to throw the final INT into double coverage that wouldn’t have been completed even if the interceptor hadn’t been there?
while I see your points on the other things you mentioned, I was standing at the front pylon and it would’ve been a completion barring the pick

The play you’re referencing of him screaming at a teammate, then throwing a pick the next play, is because they got a delay of game right after the blocked punt because a teammate wasn’t paying attention and ready to run onto the field @SugarCC

Question are you at BA practices and know their offense like the coaches and players do? Because WRs running wrong routes or OL not blocking their assignment are things you have no clue about by “just watching” usually. While you are not being a “nega” by stating your opinion that doesn’t mean it won’t be questioned knowing what I have seen from him his sophomore year when he had a good team around him.
Listen, I hate the realists, the nega's, the legion of the miserable as much as anyone. My record is pretty clear on that, as anyone who reads my posts can attest. However, my record is also clear on this...imo, posters like you and @VolFreakJosh are, in every way, as lousy as the miserables. You're sh!t-posters, imo, that bring absolutely zero to this board. Anyone who wants sunshine pumped up their ass 24/7, and look to pounce on someone, EACH and EVERYTIME, they think Heupel should have went left whenever he went right...you can find the door with the BVSer's, if I had my way. Sometimes, a spade is a spade.

This is the last ill say on the topic: anyone who knows anything about anything, they don't have to be at a single, solitary practice to know you don't throw into triple coverage, especially if you dont have a bit of pressure...or, let a throw float out into the flat, again, with no pressure, at all; then turn right around and get up into a teammates ass because their play may not be up to your liking. It was a terrible look for the kid, imo...it looked bad on TV, and I know I'm not alone in thinking that. You're 18 of 30 for a buck fifty, with 2 picks, and you're barking at others?? Lead, kid! Be passionate, light a fire, absolutely...he's the quarterback; but, that's not what that was last night. Again, LAST NIGHT. Will that be this coming week, or the week after? I have no idea. But, it was most definitely happening, say it with me now...LAST NIGHT...ONE GAME.

It wasn't just one play, met. I just used that one as an example. It was multiple times.

I'm chalking it up to the kid, and the team just having a bad night, and it showed. His composure, his poise failed him a few times last night. I'm not ready to run him out of town for it, though. It happened, move on.

I’m only referencing the play you did. He didn’t look good last night by any means but I personally didn’t see leadership issues as someone that was on the sideline, but I do know tv has a better view from that standpoint

Didn't see the game, so my opinion has nothing to do with Gmac's performance in his last game, However, I felt we made a mistake when we passed on Deuce. :( He really wanted to come here ,and now he will probably go to Auburn. I have always thought that dual threat QB's make it so much more difficult for the opposing defense.
Agreed. I was hoping we’d get Deuce from the start

Is “composer” the new “pocket presents”?

And, maybe me saying "leadership" is...idk, confusing some. That's on me. While I do believe it's part of leading, I'm speaking more to his poise, composure. From watching on tv, you could see him losing it.

However, I'll never think it's cool to dig on others, whenever a look into the mirror may be warranted. Yes, the QB lights the fire, passion, setting and stabilizing, sometimes getting into someone's ass, of course...however, the QBs play has to be elevated, the example to others, if that barking is to be done. Hope that makes a bit more sense.

Happy with GMAC but I too questioned if we chose the wrong one. Really like Knights game. Reminds me of Hendon

DK is overrated.
GMaC has the physical tools........

JMO....based on what I see........and more importantly.........what some trusted "others" say.

I really have no idea how he will turn out as a collegiate quarterback, but it is a good thing that Peyton wasn't judged on one game:

Composer seems to be big to you. Who you got? Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Chopin?

With all I've said about GM's game last night, I stand by it. However, I'll say this also...the tools are there. The arm is there. Some throws he's made are WOW!!!, 🤩, big-time, elite throws. I'm not "concerned", in the slightest, about him being our guy at QB for this class. Again, Josh Heupel's opinion on the matter is all the assurance I need. He has more knowledge about QBs in his fingernail, than I do in my entire body.

I’m sorry but all the leadership skills in the world won’t make 210 Olinemen block any better. 😂

Guy seems to attract top flight talent with his personality everywhere he goes. I’m going to worry about the tangibles and intangibles when he gets here. This isn’t pissing on the opinion of anyone that saw him and shared either; we just expect a lot of kids earlier now. Some are further along in their journey than others.

210 is being generous for a couple of those kids

Try explaining that to LittleVol who has prob only played a few snaps of football in his life and thinks QBs are superheroes
I played college and pro.
So more than a few snaps.
It’s fine, don’t bother answering my question 🙋‍♂️.

I wasn’t even tearing the kid down.

He needs coaching.

You want to come on here and be the kid’s savior from ME for no damn reason…

For comparison here is the C and RG compared to CPA and one ref lol

I mean, on defense they flat out got manhandled. I was thinking that they were lucky to be in the game. Macintyre had some nice throws that I thought would fit well in Heups scheme. I dont get it.

Im excited as hell for this kid.
