Graham Simpson, Westview, QB - ON3

No offer from Tennessee yet but as probably the top HS freshman QB in the country, I'm sure he's on our radar. Younger brother of Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson and the son of Tennessee-Martin head coach Jason Simpson. Ole Miss offered him after a "spectacular showing" at their Friday Night Lights event in June.

Simpson's put up huge numbers this year but especially mind-boggling for a 15-year-old, completing 77% of his passes for 2,752 yards and 43 TDs with no INTs. Last night, he broke the TSSAA record for passing yards with 620 (and 8 TDs) against previously undefeated Covington.

The rumors (emphasis on rumors) were:

Jason wasn't happy with the Heupel hire at TN for 2 reasons. 1, Pruitt was going to hire Jason Simpson as QB coach before he got fired, Simpson even called Pruitt to accept the job, but it was unable to be finalized due to the ongoing hiring freeze at the time (AP confirmed these events happened but not that Jason was upset about it). 2, Jason thought TN could do better than Heupel and this got back to Heupel at some point (non-confirmed).

Also, when Tennessee played UT Martin in 2022, on the game's last play, Gaston Moore threw a ball to the endzone. Reportedly, UT Martin coaches were very upset with this throw (assistant coaches, not Jason specifically), and the handshake at the end of the game was very quick.

Graham did camp at TN in June, so there is a chance, but Heupel and Jason are most likely not exchanging Christmas cards.

Sounds like Jason is a bit immature. You can’t be surprised when Heupel runs up the score on you after he says Tennessee could do better and directed his son away from here.

Not trying to be that guy, but this dudes got some absolute monsters for receivers to be in West TN. He’s good but benefits from them more than anything. Also plays absolute doodoo talent besides Covington last night.
His team is so much better than Ty’s was. Also Graham has been completing passes in games since 4th grade. Ty was more a runner until he got to high school. I expect Graham is going to be much better than Ty.
