If Ty transfers from the Gumps, it would not surprise me at all if this dude leaves Westview.

His dad coaches at UTM there in Martin. I guess it’s possible he could get a staff position at a decent program to try to pull his kid.
That’s too much “daddy ball” for me. Sorry, if you have to have your dad at the collegiate level to even sniff an opportunity then it ain’t your thing. Too many dads these days are forcing themselves into circumstances to then force someone to give their kid an opportunity. Let the kid be himself without the dad meddling.

To be clear I don’t think that has to happen. I think Pruitt was trying to leverage it to get Ty Simpson.

Lots of talk around the area of him being better than his brother.

I saw Ty twice against good, but not great, Covington teams and Graham twice against a really good Covington team. Those two games Ty played against Covington was all I needed to see that he'd be a bust at his ranking...

Graham is the better QB and looks to be more of a leader than his brother was....

I know several coaches in that district and that's the opinion....

That’s what I’ve heard too. Graham seems to be more coachable than Ty also.

Also, I can’t see Coach Simpson leaving UTM. He’s been there a while and been successful. I would assume if he hasn’t leveraged that success by now, he’s likely to retire there.

However, I could see him coaching his boys hard. I know they tried to humble Ty at times including gifting him a “2* recruit” t-shirt a few years back for Christmas.

Why do you say that?
Do you remember Tennessee up 65-28 on UT Martin in 2022?

Last play of the game Heupel had Tayven Jackson throw one to the end zone? To try and make it 72-28.

Heupel did that to make a point to Simpson (HC). Bad blood between those two because Ty Simpson wasn’t even allowed to be recruited by Heupel when he took the Tennessee job.
Because Jason Simpson was supposed to be the OC for Pruitt but then Pruitt got fired.

I have seen them both and Graham is ALOT better at the same time in his career. And to add to it. His dad doesn’t hate Heupel. But tbh if the Faizon Brandon commitment stick I won’t be beat up about him not going to the Vols.

Faizon would have nothing to do with Graham. Totally different classes and you need a good QB each class, especially with so many portaling out now days. And Yes his dad is not a fan of Heupel, you might call it not hating him and that’s fine, but he’s not a fan and there’s NO WAY that Graham ends up at UT IF Heupel is still there. I do agree that Graham is ALOT better at the same point in his playing career. Ty was overrated, Graham will be a top QB in the country by the time he graduates.

“Congratulations to Westview High School freshman Graham Simpson on being a finalist for the 2024 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Award.

Simpson burst onto the scene in his first game of the season, tossing a school record seven touchdown passes. Against Covington in week 10, he set the state record for most passing yards in a single game with 620, also breaking his single game touchdown record with eight.

Graham Simpson finished the regular season with as many passing touchdowns (43) as he did incompletions. He also competed 78% of his passes while failing to throw a single interception.

Simpson joins Dresden high school 's Dresser Winn (2015 and 2016), Westview's Ty Simpson (2021), and Dresden's Cameron Schlicht (2023) as a finalist for the prestigious award in the last nine years.

Winn (2015) and Ty Simpson (2021) were named Mr. Football.

Pictured with Graham are his father, Jason Simpson and mother, Julie.”
