Needed that depth. Wasn't getting another scholarship QB this class, and nobody from portal was coming here. Good move.

We'll get a portal QB, imo. Just don't expect him to be a big name. It'll be a 5th year senior type that knows he he has no chance at the NFL and wants to get into coaching.

Currently Chance Nolan matches that criteria.

Yea that was mentioned several times by the VQ guys. Forget his name, but they mentioned an Oregon St transfer, who wants to get into coaching. Crazy thing is, Gardner Minchew was doing the same thing and was gonna go to Ala..Next thing you know he's putting up big numbers under Leach and has started games and played well in the NFL.

Don't be so sure about that. Still possible, as has been mentioned that we get a portal QB that is looking to get into coach, ala Garner Minchew...we saw how that turned out..You just never know, especially with QB's.

Well, when I was a freshman I was 6' 135 lbs. After my first quarter at UT, I was just under 6' 5" and weighed 195. That was without an organized fitness program. I think he will grow just a bit.
You grew 5" in Height your freshman year in college!?

So, I have an interesting question. Can a PWO get a NIL deal? If so, it isn't going to be long before some coach brings in starting level players as PWOs to get around scholarship limits and compensate them enough to cover the cost of tuition in addition to the NIL deal.

I’m sure he will gain weight. He may or may not grow taller. I grew almost 2 inches after high school but I know lots of people who were as tall as they were ever gonna be in 8th grade. Everyone is different
