'22 TN QB Ty Simpson (Alabama commit)

LOL. This is such a comically outdated argument at this point. Have you watched the NFL over the last 3 years? Air raid and spread concepts are all over the NFL at this point.

And Patrick Mahomes won a Super Bowl last season.
Don't forget, was also back in the Super Bowl again this year! You're also right as far as Mahomes/Air Raid goes. That's the closest thing you'll get to a comparison, IMO.

Ok. What if Simpson has told JH and this staff that he is coming to TN. Simpson obviously wants to be the guy to the school he is committing to. So JH might think well Ty is on board so we don’t need to recruit any more QBs for the 22 class. And then he commits to Bama or Clemson. Then that makes it even harder to bet in on Horn because you haven’t been recruiting him.

There has to be a legit reason as to why JH hasn’t been recruiting Horn.

Perfect reason why you recruit horn hard as you do ty....if this staff doesnt do that they will continue make many of same mistakes last staff made and we could be looking at coaching change in 4 years....hopefully this staff knows better than to recruit one qb

First off, not everything is a conspiracy theory, Train; and, not EVERYONE is crooked and low down. Although, I will admit I could be wrong...but, I'd bet my life that Simpson has not silent committed to Heupel, just to up and publicly commit to somewhere else on the 19th. Now, if you want to choose to believe this, I feel sorry for you, because I can only assume the rest of your outlook on life. Bet your neighbor is trying to get one over on you, as well, right?

Second, how do you know Heupel isn't recruiting Horn? Heupel or Horn personally tell you this? Just because the VQs and Rivals of the world hasnt said it, doesn't mean it's not happening.

Uh huh and what happens when that kid and the parent jump on social media and start telling their story? It would end badly for Saban.

This isn’t 1985. Everyone has a platform to be heard with social media now. This sh*t wouldn’t fly Bc they couldn’t get away with it.
Do you think anyone in Alabama gives two squirts what people in the rest of the country think? Auburn people wouldn’t care because they’d do the same thing if they could.

Heupel as a fallback choice. He’ll probably get three years, maybe four if the sanctions are bad, to turn things around. Boosters thought DW could deliver Franklin.

I actually think Heupel gets 5-6 minimum and I also think he has potential to do well here. If he can score like he did at UCF anything can happen.

He gets 5 years at the minimum. If they only give him 3 years and then fire him....then just go ahead and shut this program down. You're at the point now....after 4 failed coaches in 12 years ....he gets a lot more time than the past 4 guys.

Completely agree. The whole you get 3 years or you are fired has really helped us out. Not. At some point you have to give someone time.

Dude, Simpson is going too a winner now. He will go Clemson or Bama. He may see the field maybe not. He is good but not Sec good.
Quotes from Simpson from this article ... What Ty Simpson said Friday about top choices, upcoming announcement

“If I can take ice, I’m sure I can take an SEC defensive lineman or linebacker...." So, I think it is unlikely that he goes to Clemson.

“Kind of. He actually called one time. I had a Georgia number (calling) and I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness — spam call.
All of a sudden, ‘Hey, Ty, this is Trevor Lawrence.’ It’s like, ‘Holy crap. I’m talking to the future number-one overall pick.’ It was really cool. I asked him, why did he go to Clemson? Why didn’t he want to stay in the SEC? And how is your walk with Christ there?" So, he has only talked to Trevor once. And he wanted to know why not the Sec. So, I just think it is NOT Clemson. and also Not Texas.

Next, he uses the past tense with Texas A&M, "so I felt like" ... so mark Texas A&M off the list.

Ole Miss, he talks about 'fun" 'friends' 'family' and 'the grove.' Not consistent with his core values. So, that is also a No to Ole Miss.

So, personally, I think it comes down to Saban vs Tennessee. Did not sound to me like he has his mind made up just yet. But he is getting close.
I remember when I was 18, that was like a hundred years ago ... but boy decisions did not come easy back then .... like they do today.

Regardless of the cheating, Pruitt wasn't riding the hot seat because he hadn't won an SEC championship yet.

There's no jobs in America that aren't going to question your employment status when your job performance falls off of the grand canyon in your third year.

Improvement isn't always linear, but you can't just ignore absolute coaching malfeasance game by game, just because your guy hasn't hit some arbitrary amount of time on the job yet.

I don’t understand how anyone growing up a UT fan would even consider going to Alabama. If I were the #1 player in the country they still wouldn’t be on my list....
3-7, not a single 22 commit, not a single Championship in anything football related since 07, no Defensive Coordinator after having been told no by 9 people, and NCAA sanctions.

Difference in fan mentality and a player making a business decision. It is what is, and he can't approach it like Bama isn't an option just because he is a Tennessee fan when Bama is literally the absolute best option for most any elite high school football player, right now. It sucks, but it is just reality.

I’m not saying I would go to UT. I’m just saying I would literally go to any other school than Alabama.

edit: I don’t think Florida could be an option either
