'19 TN RB Eric Gray

"Just to see the game atmosphere," Gray said. "Everyone talks about going into Neyland Stadium when it's packed and all those fans were screaming. It was a good atmosphere and I liked it all the way around."

Gray has been committed to Michigan for a few months now, but recently, he decided it was in his best interest to leave no stone unturned.

"I only took two visits and I felt like I should take all five visits," Gray said. "Just make sure Michigan is the right place for me and give myself all my options."

Tennessee has never stopped recruiting the shifty and lethal tailback. He took notice of that and that's why he has stayed in contact with head coach Jeremy Pruitt and wanted to visit Rocky Top.

"I like his plan for the program," Gray said. "They have some nice commitments and have a nice offensive line coming in next year. His plan for the team is pretty good and how he sees the team in the future and his vision for the program."

Tennessee took a tough loss on Saturday and while the wins may not come this year, Gray isn't concerning himself with that. After all, he hopes to be a part of the change no matter which school he chooses.

"I'm not looking at teams for this year," Gray said. 'I'm looking at teams for next year and the next several years. I'm not there right now so I'm looking at what are we going to look like and what commits are coming and how are we going to build this into something great?"

Tennessee running backs coach Chris Weinke has done a nice job with Gray the last few months. He has continued to love him up and show him there is more to playing running back than just running the ball.

"Coach Weinke is a Heisman quarterback and so he knows what it takes to be a Heisman," Gray said. "He's a smart guy and he knows running backs. Being a Heisman quarterback, you have to know the whole offense, so he is teaching you how to know the whole offense and play it as a running back."

So where does Gray go from here? There will likely be more visits with some headed back to Ann Arbor.

"I'm probably going to take two more, but I'm not sure where they will be to yet," Gray said. "I'm going to go to the Michigan/Wisconsin and Michigan/Penn State game. I may come back up to Knoxville for that Alabama game."
Rivals.com ranks Gray as a 3-star running back in the class of 2019.
