'19 TN RB Eric Gray

well, he's visited Ole Miss 1 time in the last couple months and he's visited TN twice in as many months. loosk like Ole Miss will get his last visit before early signing period.

i'd say it actually looks more like an Ole Miss/TN battle than anything.

Hmmm....Fact: He’s committed to Michigan. The fact that he’s getting the last visit before the early signing period and that we’ve also revved up our search for running backs in the last week or so is also a little concerning..

you weren't discussing that he's committed to michigan, just that there was no evidence to suggest he was considering TN. i offered some. he Ov'd for the FL game and came on an unofficial a few weeks after that.

that's it. you're free to do with it what you will.

Yep, just trying to rationalize what he’s going to do. So, what do you think? You think he’ll wear Orange?

dunno. this one is sort of hard to read. i do think there's something to the additional RB prospects we're looking at, so it at least appears we're trying to spread the risk around.

it'll be interesting to see if he makes the trip to Ole Miss in December.

That's cool and all but I'm not sure I see anything wrong with hoping a recruit doesn't massively underperform his ranking.

It could be that Richmond wasn’t developed well enough. As I have stated several times, I know a local HS coach who told me Richmond was a very good talent, but he thought he would be better at guard in college. This was during Richmond’s senior year. If we had other talent at tackle, he might be a better guard. It’s not all on him.

Wasn’t there some discussion that we would try to take 2 RB’s? That might help to explain the volume of offers.

I know someone who is about two degrees of separation from Gray. He said Ole Miss is the real competition.

Edit: sorry, I didn’t see your post above. You seem to be correct.

yes, that is correct. we just don't have one in the barn yet, so outside looking in, it's hard to say it's "gray AND so and so" vs. "it's gray OR so and so".

:) all good.

i think Ole Miss being an hour from home helps a lot with the memphis kids. and if you're willing to sit thru the rest of their punishment, they actually should be pretty good. but yeah, i think it's hard to look at the two shcools and say ole miss is headed in an equal to or better direction than us.....

there's enough smoke here to say you feel good about him coming to ut, but i don't think it's a slam dunk either.

My buddy is not a UT guy and said he would prefer seeing him at UT than OM. More than just football reasons.

I think the ramping up of RB recruiting is more due to Banks moving to LB, rather than an indication of where we are with Gray. I think we would take Gray as an APB while still recruiting more of an early-down type back.

That's fine too. I'm just completely done with tearing down people who willingly put on for orange. He's obviously our best option at the position or Pruitt would play someone else, may as well build the guy up.

To each their own.
Just think about what these Jr's and Sr's have been thru, in their time on The Hill.

2 different HC; Richmond has had 3 different OL coaches; 3 S&C coaches; 3 different OC's; 2 AD's.

I guarantee you that none of these clowns who rip and rip have never once thought about these things, because, well...their clowns.
