‘23 TN SDE Trevor Duncan (Tennessee commit)

I have no idea if this young man will be a big time football player, but I’ve been around him off and on since his kindergarten days at Sacred Heart. He comes from a great family and is a high character person. Fits the Heupel MO in that regard. BTW: His dad is a mountain of a man!
I think this kid is going to be a mauler for us.

Looks like a SDE to me.
Yeah and the Echols wants to play TE.
Even one of the top 247 scouts said Echols was the best player on the field for IMG this spring- while he was playing Edge.

Duncan wants to play DL, but his upside on Oline is WAY higher.

Hey, i say let them chase their dreams until someone better at that spot beats them out.

JMO.

In 2026. Echols will be staring at Edge, and Duncan will be starting at LT

Anytime you find a dude capable of playing LT, you play him at LT.

It's the hardest position to recruit. Not QB. LT.

You can put many types at the DE position in multiple fronts, but LT specifically is a much harder spot to fill.
He's around 270-275 right now? We have some mammoth OT prospects that don't remotely translate to defense at all. It doesn't make sense to have a kid with his motor and potential on defense to be buried on the depth chart while he adds weight and learns the tackle position.

I have heard AP say he thought Duncan could be a 1st round OT. That one reason I wasn’t to worried about not getting Francis.
One of the first times I agree with AP.
They just don't grow good OTs on trees.
Even RT is difficult to recruit. LT even more so because of the nature of protecting the blindside and often times not not getting a chip block because the RB is often running a route into the QBs vision.

He won't be setting behind anyone at OT in this class. He's easly 300 lbs by the time he gets to campus.

His tenacity and athleticism is why he needs to be at OT. Had we got Mauigoa.
Duncan wouldve force him to move to RT or LG

Echols committed here early because he was sold on Golesh making him a top flight TE. Echols will be a tight end if he stays committed to us. Echols is also still growing and an athletic freak. Hell, you would move Seldon to LB if given the chance.

I guess we'll have to wait and see, but you saying that he's a better tackle prospect than Sham, Simmons, or Ramil is a little questionable.

See this young man at the gym, and again, he has an imposing stature (sts). My bet would be DL, but who knows. Side note, he was in a cast wheeling around on one leg. Hopefully just a simple fracture.

...still back and forth and about that( Seldon)🤔.
I'm excited about Seldon playing offense.

I already said, that I agree the coaches will let him (Echols) TE. And he may be very good there.

But you need pash rushers to change the game. And we've signed some good ones in 2022 and 2023 is pretty dang good so far. Echols is better than all of them at Edge...

Wait to see who else we land in 24.
