In ANY SPORT AT ANY LEVEL SINCE YOU HAVE BEEN BORN, after record, head to head is the established rule for standings.I hate to disagree with you, but I do.
Their loss to us on the road by 3 and an overtime loss to LSU on the road by 1 are nowhere near as bad as our loss to South Carolina.
Prio to the South Carolina game Tennessee was ahead of Alabama in the polls. We got blown out and lost that position. It's not the fault of the committee it's the fault of the team that laid down
In ANY poll, if two teams have the same record and played head-to-head, the team that won head-to-head is ahead.

If two teams have the same record and played each other head to head, the winner of the head to head should be ranked higher. Each game has its own unique variables that make it impossible to determine our loss vs USC was worse than their loss to LSU. Bama lost by one at LSU while we crushed LSU at their place. So if you try to use comparative scores, we have two advantages over Bama, our head to head victory over them and a much wider margin of victory over a common opponent, both on the road. Simply no valid reason to put UA over UT based upon real evidenc. Saying they would beat us if we played again because of our QB situation is nothing but speculation. At this point in the season, polls should be based upon actual games played, historical facts, not speculation on what would happen if…….

The CFP Ranking Committee uses 5 main criteria to determine rankings. By all applicable criteria, Tennessee beats Alabama and should be ranked higher
