We just haven't hit enough. E. Renfroe has had a stellar career but she is not the type of pitcher who can dominate good teams--and we haven't had a no. 2 to give her a break in games where she's struggling a bit. We have to hit the ball and we really haven't. Aldrete, who along with Shipman carried us all year, has been quiet and very little from the bottom of order.

They hit bombs off our ace too.. No excuse here, but maybe Gabriel just needs more experience. She hasn't really got to pitch much. I dunno, just finding something to gripe about I guess. But there are several questions as to what next season will be like.

Well said. A solid number 2 would have given Ellen much needed rest. She can't do it all, all season long. They tried playing Gabriel and gaffin in mid week games, often we'd fall behind to sunbelt teams and they'd have to bring Ellen in.

The team plays about 50 games a year. It's not like you can't keep make use of two pitchers.

I was hoping we'd redeem ourselves against ou, but I guess not.

We will be in the bottom 3 of the SEC next year in pitching. We may need a 30 HR season out of Aldrete just to have a winning record in conference play.

Amazing how a low-scoring sport can completely get away from a team.
Our ladies tanked once the end-result became clear.

Our hitters need to adjust faster. Other than the error that scored our first run today, this series has been a pop-fly drill for OU. You have to put the ball on the ground and make fielding more difficult.

Defense also needs to be addressed. I'll leave it at that since I don't want to call out specific players.

Good season but this series was a disappointment b/c OU was beatable.

No I get that. What I'm saying is we went all in with gabriel at #2 who has done little to nothing at UT. Meanwhile Kelsey nunley at UK (via Chattanooga) has been much more impressive and pitching whole games...

They are beatable but had won 16 in a row and 40 of their last 42.... Very good team, nothing to be ashamed about by losing, but we didn't execute well late in the game.
