'24 TN WR Amari Jefferson (Tennessee)

The fact TV is recruiting him has to help, period. He’s pretty good at that stuff. #1 incoming class for ‘24 and landing a ridiculous transfer class.

For anyone keeping track, that’s an opportunity to play football for:

- #1 offense in cfb
- program with current Biletnikoff winner
- best offensive mind in cfb

And play baseball for:

- only program to avg 50 wins over last 3 seasons
- program that has reached CWS 2 of last 3 years with a super regional sandwiched in between
- the most fun culture in the game

Amari Jefferson is one we continue to track as an early August decision seems most likely. With each jockeying for position down the home stretch, this one remains an Alabama-Tennessee race. We will pay close attention to see if he takes any trips to end the month. We expect a decision the first week or so of August.

Make the case: So much screams Tennessee in this recruitment to me. I’ve said that for several weeks. The baseball part of the equation, path to the playing field, opportunities after sports as an instate Vol and so much more.

No Take: I’ll take that Tennessee has just as good of a chance as anyone else to land Jefferson but man this could easily be Alabama when he makes his decision in early August. The family was really impressed by Nick Saban on the Tide visit. Tennessee has made up a bunch of ground here in the last couple of months. It’s a coin flip to me as we head into mid July with him possibly taking a visit or two at the end of the month.

Don’t like Bama gets last visit at all. Bad feeling that he tells us no then has warm fuzzy feelings by telling them yes to end his visits. I know it’s BVS.

Matt Ray discussed this a bit on VQ.
Think you always want the last visit and for good reason, but I also think Tennessee gets the more personal visit with this setup. Vols will be hosting a cookout and other targets will be around on the 29th. Bama will be doing the same on the 29th from what I am told. Sets up for TN to get more 1-on-1 time this way. That ultimately may not matter in the end, but I personally like that setup more for the Vols.

No spin. Just how I see it. AJ is a relationship guy and doesn't get lost in all the visit hype, etc. As I said, I think you always want the last visit and for good reason, but with the way things fall, it certainly does not hurt for Tennessee to get him in a more 1-on-1 setting.

Will Alabama even be allowed to play baseball next year?
They’re about to be sanctioned into oblivion..

If I was Tennessee..
I would just put the tape on of the last minute of the football game from last year, and just say, “Are you sure you want to play for a complete idiot?”

One of the biggest coaching choke jobs in the history of the SEC. 💯
