'24 TN WR Amari Jefferson (Tennessee)

I so don't care what this kid does

Im just here for the angst

I don’t either really. like I’ve said for months, if he was from NC then there wouldn’t be so much emphasis on him imo. We’re good at receiver with Matthews and Staley and still in it with a Wingo. Plus we pick and choose what receivers we want from the portal. So idk if receiver will ever be a position of concern for us with this staff.

What is, Tell me you’re not a diehard baseVol fan, without telling me you’re not a diehard baseVol fan, for $500 Alex...

he seems to love Saban for some reason. if he were a DB i'd maybe understand, but all of those good offensive coaches they had in the past are gone

Just feels like Bama for Jefferson, hope I’m wrong.

I love instate guys, and multi sport guys, but if he does not have a closet full of outgrown UT shirts and hats and fond memories of game day experiences then I can understand being enticed by a coach with his record at Bama. I will live with however he stratifies his drivers and make his pick.

If not UT then I will move on, maybe wishing him a healthy but unremarkable career like every other kid we push for but don’t sign.

Vitello (and his players) have earned the respect of a lot of football fans, and have us cheering on the baseVols. No doubt in my mind. I don't know the numbers, but I know my younger brother texted me when he saw me going nuts on the Supers broadcast. "Is that you in the [described my shirt and hat] at the game. Didn't know you were into baseball?! I texted back: "And look at you watching the game!" Amari Jefferson would be a double win.

I want both.

You and me have always been on the same page...I could give a sh!t where they come from, I want the best players, period

Seems Jefferson is one of the best, though, therefore I want him in Orange...him being from Tennessee or Mars never blips on my radar.

Forgive my ignorance but if he chooses Bama for football, he would have to decommit from UT baseball right?

Yep and it looks like football is the prime mover here. But I think Vitello might show up at some point during this visit. And Vitello is a great recruiter, just like Heup.

Agreed! I want him because chances are he’ll pan out in one sport.

I think it’s both….. you definitely take a mediocre kid just bc he is local…. It is important, however, to be highly successful with instate kids that you covet…. We should have a huge advantage over other schools for kids that grew up in state…. The majority of the influences will be pushing them to be a Vol. How do you think Missouri got Burden and is showing up on the lists for Wingo and Nwaneri?

I hope we get this kid bc the staff seems to really cover him and it is always nice to beat Bama for a recruit.
