'25 TN WR Cameron Sparks

I don’t worry about where the WRs we recruit rank in stars. we seem to have a lot of WRs catching a lot of football in college as well as the pros.

Since season has started anyone been to any baylor games? How has Sparks been doing?
I saw him in the preseason in a scrimmage where Amari was at that baseball event and Max wasn’t playing so he had a full plate of opportunity and he took advantage of it against Cleveland. Thinking about going to McCallie/Baylor so we shall see

“I mean, the energy was great in the stadium. (After) we got there, got to talk to Coach Heup and then (wide receivers) coach (Kelsey) Pope pregame, so it was good.

“I mean, it got even crazier in Neyland that time. It was loud. That was probably the loudest I’ve ever heard it since I was there.

“The first play — oh, my gosh,”

“Before the game, I had a meeting with Coach Pope and Coach Heupel,”

“They were just saying Knoxville is a fun place to be right now, playing in an offense at Tennessee, and then I would have great guys along with me as my teammates.”

Sparks said he also talked with some of the other recruits in attendance at Saturday’s game, including five-star Class of 2025 quarterback George MacIntyre — one of his Tennessee Select 7-on-7 teammates — four-star Class of 2025 defensive lineman Ethan Utley, Vols cornerback commitment Dylan Lewis and four-star Class of 2025 tight end Emaree Winston.

Lewis “was obviously promoting” the idea of playing with them at Tennessee, Sparks said, and “there was this conversation about … potentially teaming up somewhere.”

“Michigan’s coming in pretty hard, and Auburn,”

“Auburn always been there, honestly, and Georgia.”

“I think that they’re trending upwards again this year. They had the number-one rushing offense (in the SEC) at one point this year, so that was obviously a plus.”

“I am looking to make a decision sometime in the summer,” Sparks said. “I haven’t set up my official visits yet, but I am going to Tennessee for a Junior Day on the 20th and Michigan on the 26th.” As he has worked through the process, nothing has changed with the Vols consistency, but the standout athlete has continued to hear more that he is a top priority for them. “That I am priority in this cycle,” he said of this. “They have told me they are going to try to do everything they can to get me up there and that they are always going to make Tennessee feel like home to me and my family.”
“The way they reach out,” Sparks said of. “We talk on the phone a lot. They get up to my school everytime they can. Coach Pope was down in December, and he will be back down again soon. I can just tell that I am a priority for them in this cycle. They have let me know more throughout about how they can use me in their system.” “They basically say that my production at Tennessee would be similar to my production at Baylor,” Sparks said of this. “I would roam the field and lineup at running back, receiver, and really play anything in their offense. Kind of how Tennessee used Cordarrelle Patterson in the past. That is pretty cool to hear.”
Sparks expects this upcoming (jr. day) visit to be different than his previous trips. “I think it is going to be more of the relationship side, and I will get to hangout with the team more,” he said. “I also think it will be more of a business talk this time too. We are going to go checkout the basketball game as well. So, I am excited about that.” Sparks knows by the time he announces a commitment that George MacIntyre, could be committed to a school, if that is Tennessee, this would certainly bolster the Vols chances. “That would definitely be a big impact on me because they already have Nico and Jake there,” Sparks said of this. “Those guys can really sling it. Then catching passes from George, that is always fun. We have been doing it in 7v7 for a while, and no one has really been able to stop it.” “Really the school that shows me and my family the best relationship and will get me to the place I want to be at in the future,” Sparks said.

Cameron Sparks will be back in Knoxville next weekend for a visit and this is a trip he is excited about. As the clock has ticked over to the 2025 class, we believe the Vols are in as good of a spot as anyone right now. He is close with MacIntrye and several players on the current roster. Michigan is the other team pushing the hardest right now, but they are selling a defensive role to him, and we believe he covets the role that Tennessee has told him he could play in their offense. Georgia, Auburn and several others are in daily contact with him as well.
