I’m just telling it like it is. We’re in no position to turn away stud athletes at positions of need, and yes WR is a position of need. We have a lot of X WRs but very few guys outside of Squirrel that can take the top off a defense. We need a decent sized guy that can take the top off a defense like Payton did last year
Making decent grades as a college athlete at a place like Tennessee is easier than in HS because of the academic support systems they have in place
Is he actually failing classes or are his grades combined with his ACT scores just not good enough to get into UT? I don’t see why Georgia would be offering him this late in the cycle if they didn’t think they could find a way get him eligibleThis is false. To fail at a public HS in TN is incredibly hard to do. Show up, be respectful, turn in assignments on time and you’re virtually assured a 75 in the class. And that is for all students. If you’re an elite athlete you get even more “support” when it comes to grades in HS.

I knew a math teacher at a local public high school here in Knoxville and he said that he would literally give the kids the test the day before and switch a few numbers around on the actual test. Said he would have 20% of the class still fail. This is false. To fail at a public HS in TN is incredibly hard to do. They would offer and find a way to get him in if the only way he signs his name is by making an X with a crayonIs he actually failing classes or are his grades combined with his ACT scores just not good enough to get into UT?
