'22 TN WR Isaiah Horton (Miami Transfer)

Our instate recruiting is not good. I get the sanctions and losing seasons. But still don’t see other states with this much lack of success with j state talent.

This is what the consistent revolving door of coaches does
I’ll never understand why the state a kid comes from matters. I’m for taking any kid with talent that wants to be here.

The sanctions shouldn’t have any impact because it’s all political BS anyway.

You punish one school for cheating while all the other big programs whom do the exact same sh*t, nothing happens to them.

This is why the NCAA should be held accountable for their propaganda bs that’s been going on for decades.

College sports is pretty much ruined because of it.

Who cares about in state recruiting? The majority of my all time favorite Vols came from different states.

When higher ranked instate recruits choose to go someone else, I guess it's easier for some to say " instate doesn't matter"

Whatever It takes to convince yourself that you're not bothered by it.

You are bothered by it just like everyone else
I’m not bothered by it even a little bit…… especially offensive side of the ball players….. I use to freak out just like some of our fans may do but after following recruiting year after year, I realized I was being an idiot….It is a process….. we don’t need everyone to be a 4-5* player….. we don’t need instate recruits….. we need our staff to be able to evaluate players and not have many misses at all…. We need solid players that can fill out our depth chart with…. As we stabilize our program and make UT seem exciting…. Higher rated Gus including instate will jump onboard.

Perception is a factor in recruiting. If you can’t recruit your state people will use it against us
That’s not true at all….. there is a lot to use against UT at the moment but instate recruiting is way down the list.

It is also low-hanging fruit for opposing staff's to use to negatively recruit against you with kids from other states, as well.

Example: "Why would you want to go play for Tennessee? The top 10 kids in their own state don't want to play for them."

Pope was still on the table WITH Horton. VQ hinted they’d take all 4. Maybe Ayomanor?
I have confidence in Heupel and Burns to flip him if he goes Miami right now. I have nothing but confidence they can flip him, if we look halfway decent on the field this year. But, im also very confident they'll replace him just fine, if they can't flip him.

Couldn’t our just tell them that we want the best talent no matter we’re it comes from….. Georgia, Florida or wherever has so much talent that we feel you would be the highest rated kid in Tennessee.

I don’t see TN having any trouble recruiting WR once the product hits the field.

Easy sell to recruits, “our record says we are WRU and you will have more touches than the HOF WRs before you”. Easy pitch, PT, Production, and History.

If, and I know many can play that game, so... so will i...but, if I were AD, President, or whoever else is a big wig of our great university, and ALL that comes with it (and, I will get to the ALL here in a bit), I'd tell the NCAA to f*** the straight off, if they tried to come down hard; and, then I'd do what I wanted, play whoever I wanted, take as many as I wanted scholarship wise, then i'd tell the Bowls we'll accept any invitation to any of their Bowls, and we'll bring Vol Nation with us, and all our money, then I'd go play in the bowl game.

I'd tell the SEC to fully support us in this endeavor, or I'd take my university, my educational opportunities, my sports, my coaches, my brand, my fans, my money, and my legacy as one of the top 1 to 5 programs, universities, the sh!t, in this conference to a different one...im sure the ACC, as would ANY other conference, would welcome us with open arms.

I'd bring up lsu basketball, North Carolina, Ohio St coaches, who beat the sh!t out of their wives, and sweep it under the rug, and whoever else i had to bring up, to show how much of a worthless, bs, joke, the ncaa truly is.

Our legacy, which holds our history, our success, our programs, our stadiums and gymnasiums, our coaches and alumni (never forget, that 2 of the 5 greatest football players to ever play the game, come from our great legacy (Peyton Manning and Reggie White), 3 of the greatest of ALL TIME, period: Chamique Holdsclaw, Tamika Catchings, and Candace Parker, and all I have to do is MENTION the ABSOLUTE ICON that is Pat Summitt.

With all of that, and everything I didn't mention, comes fans, and with fans comes MONEY, and the many different ways to generate it..maybe the most money in the SEC. On social media, no other university comes close to rivaling Vol Nation, and this NIL will prove it. At the end of the day, it's all about money and what you bring to the table...many have forgotten that Vol Nation brings as much as anyone to the table whenever it comes to brand, fans, and MONEY...as much as ANYONE. The SEC would get on board, or I'd take myself elsewhere.

Football is ALL about offense now...big play, explosive offense, that can score quick, and in many different ways...Josh Heupel is one of the best in the biz at such.

Sure, we can attempt to spin it any way possible. 0-10 in your own state is pretty damning evidence, though, aside from the other obvious elements currently used against us.

That message might reach some parents who could influence some kids but very few kids give a sh$t about that.

Obviously

But, one would like to have the in-state talent in your back pocket if you want them.
UT hasn’t been relevant in these kids lifetime and a lot aren’t native Tennesseans anyway

Some of our best players have been from out of state.

These kids now & days are brainwashed into thinking we’re the only program that’s done shady stuff in the past. These so called “handlers” try to put us down and sway these kids to go elsewhere.

Personally, it’s foolish on their part.
