I’ll never understand why the state a kid comes from matters. I’m for taking any kid with talent that wants to be here. Our instate recruiting is not good. I get the sanctions and losing seasons. But still don’t see other states with this much lack of success with j state talent.
This is what the consistent revolving door of coaches does

Who cares about in state recruiting? The majority of my all time favorite Vols came from different states. Our instate recruiting is not good. I get the sanctions and losing seasons. But still don’t see other states with this much lack of success with j state talent.

I’m not bothered by it even a little bit…… especially offensive side of the ball players….. I use to freak out just like some of our fans may do but after following recruiting year after year, I realized I was being an idiot….It is a process….. we don’t need everyone to be a 4-5* player….. we don’t need instate recruits….. we need our staff to be able to evaluate players and not have many misses at all…. We need solid players that can fill out our depth chart with…. As we stabilize our program and make UT seem exciting…. Higher rated Gus including instate will jump onboard. When higher ranked instate recruits choose to go someone else, I guess it's easier for some to say " instate doesn't matter"
Whatever It takes to convince yourself that you're not bothered by it.
You are bothered by it just like everyone else
It is also low-hanging fruit for opposing staff's to use to negatively recruit against you with kids from other states, as well. When higher ranked instate recruits choose to go somewhere else, I guess it's easier for some to say " instate doesn't matter"

I have confidence in Heupel and Burns to flip him if he goes Miami right now. I have nothing but confidence they can flip him, if we look halfway decent on the field this year. But, im also very confident they'll replace him just fine, if they can't flip him.Pope was still on the table WITH Horton. VQ hinted they’d take all 4. Maybe Ayomanor?
Couldn’t our just tell them that we want the best talent no matter we’re it comes from….. Georgia, Florida or wherever has so much talent that we feel you would be the highest rated kid in Tennessee. It is also low-hanging fruit for opposing staff's to use to negatively recruit against you with kids from other states, as well.
Example: "Why would you want to go play for Tennessee? The top 10 kids in their own state don't want to play for them."
I don’t see TN having any trouble recruiting WR once the product hits the field.I have confidence in Heupel and Burns to flip him if he goes Miami right now. If, and I know many can play that game, so... so will i...but, if I were AD, President, or whoever else is a big wig of our great university, and ALL that comes with it (and, I will get to the ALL here in a bit), I'd tell the NCAA to f*** the straight off, if they tried to come down hard; and, then I'd do what I wanted, play whoever I wanted, take as many as I wanted scholarship wise, then i'd tell the Bowls we'll accept any invitation to any of their Bowls, and we'll bring Vol Nation with us, and all our money, then I'd go play in the bowl game. The sanctions shouldn’t have any impact because it’s all political BS anyway.
You punish one school for cheating while all the other big programs whom do the exact same sh*t, nothing happens to them.
This is why the NCAA should be held accountable for their propaganda bs that’s been going on for decades.
College sports is pretty much ruined because of it.
Football is ALL about offense now...big play, explosive offense, that can score quick, and in many different ways...Josh Heupel is one of the best in the biz at such.I don’t see TN having any trouble recruiting WR once the product hits the field.
Easy sell to recruits, “our record says we are WRU and you will have more touches than the HOF WRs before you”. Easy pitch, PT, Production, and History.
Sure, we can attempt to spin it any way possible. 0-10 in your own state is pretty damning evidence, though, aside from the other obvious elements currently used against us.Couldn’t our just tell them that we want the best talent no matter we’re it comes from…..
