'22 TN WR Isaiah Horton (Miami Transfer)

Lmao.. pedestrian at best?

As a freshman he had 30 receptions for almost 500 yards and that was with Hyatt, Tillman, and Bru.

Sophomore he had 60+ receptions for 800 yds.

This year (shoulder injury) 33 receptions for 364 yards.

So yeah...you're completely wrong.. congrats.
That guy had to have the dumbest take I’ve seen in a minute. 😂

Squirrel has never done better than that in a season though
Sophomore season he had 800 yards. Geez. Idk if you can read, but that means better honey bee. Squirrel is perfectly fine in the slot and he’s proved it the previous 2 seasons. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

I think the thing with squirrel is that he just needs to stay healthy. If he could get a little stronger in the offseason and maybe bulk up a little without losing too much speed it would help him a lot.

Besides the injuries, Squirrel didn’t have as big of a year, is because we team 12 personnel more often this year. It allowed Sampson to run for more yards and with our offense….we used the TE as a matchup problem this year.
I almost mentioned this. He had two huge catches against NC State, but did little else because we were in 12 personnel for most of the game. That wasn’t an example of Squirrel playing poorly. He played well. It was just a matchup thing.

I don’t think anyone wants him replaced. They just want another receiver in the rotation next year and if it means they have to get someone that would make him a backup then so be it. We will have 3 WRs next year with in game experience and one of them hasn’t played against top 25 competition yet, although I expect Matthews to get some reps Saturday. Not only do we need to upgrade the depth at that position but we also need to upgrade the top end talent at receiver and need someone that is capable of playing multiple spots in case a receiver goes down. Do we really want to rely on a true freshman to come in if Brazzell goes down next year?

Depends on the freshman? I am good with staff priorities for ALL acquisitions based on knowledge.

3. Squirrel White battled through injuries that would sideline most receivers and somehow was able to help the team despite of that. Gosh, you guys are so weird.
I’ll never ridicule a guy busting his ass out there actually hurt. Most people would have packed it in, got their surgery, & protected themselves. Squirrel played thru.

I like a healthy Squirrel as a starter and possible all SEC player. However, an injured squirrel, just like any injured player, opens up his position to underperformance. If our reserves are not better than an injured player, we badly need to recruit better in the future, either from high school or portal players.
