Nah we pushed like hell for him. Just had been in good talks with Kentucky for a while. It is what is, we are going to have a great class but he was definitely our top in-state WR target this year. Interested in who we land if we miss out on Tate/Rogers/Kasper. I think we ultimately land Justin Brown but after that it gets murky. Getting in a good spot with Devin Hyatt tho

Look at top 100 list from Florida. Look at the list the past 20 years every year. At least 300-400 current or former NFL players if not more and some hall of famers.

IMG does have plenty of 4 star and 5 stars on the roster this year and every year. Names one HS in Tennessee that could hang with IMG? Forget about IMG, Name one HS in Tennessee that could hang with St. Thomas, American Heritage, Columbus, Miami Central, Miami Booker T, Miami Northwest, Dillard, Ely, Lake Gipson, Venice, Lakeland, on and on and on. And some of these schools are in the ghetto too but yea Florida has more residents. LOL

Well…not quite (but close) but we have plenty of WR talent coming in this year, and we will find others for 2023.

Also, his offer list is not top 150-like. My guess is his ranking will get adjusted.

not what I said. I mean look at where the Top 200-250 Florida kids have signed and look where Tenn top 50 have signed or committed. Not even close. Bama, Georgia, LSU, OSU, Texas AM, U, FSU, etc.. racking up FL kids.

Nolen has size and talent no doubt on film and I'm sure he will be coached up but again he played weak competition every week so he will need coached up. I personally think he may struggle his first year or two especially if he think he is just going to walk in the SEC on talent alone and not work hard. Simpson looks good on film and I'm sure a great kid and will be good eventually at Bama but again, he beat up on little single A teams every week with 200 lb DL and slow CB and Safeties and absolutely no competition either.

I'll take our QB recruit Jackson any day right now over Simpson just because he DID play top notch competition every week so he is probably a little father alone than Simpson at this point.

Suppose you missed the Under Armor AA game didn't you. I don't think Powell played any single A teams.

Your right, that's why I named a bunch of other HS in FL. that does have only FL kids. St. Thomas gets a couple from out of state or country like former VFL Josh Palmer who was from Canada but the majority of STA kids are locals. Lakeland to be a small city produces D-1 kids and talent every year. Not sure why Morven Joseph didn't work out for the Vols, he had talent and was highly recruited.

Vols have done well in past year with FL kids Alvin Harper, Tony Thompson, Palardy, Josh Palmer, Cheese Henry, Demetric Morley and a bunch of others. Georgia kids too with too many to count from Eric Berry, Cosey Coleman, Deon Grant, Jamal Lewis, on and on and on. You could fill a NFL team with all the greats from GA or FL that were VFL's year past. We just need to get back to recruiting these type of athletes.

Let's see what Nolen does at TAM before claiming he is the next Reggie White. Talent alone won't make you a great player. Heart and hard work does. Powell literally plays no one except maybe Maryville and Knox Catholic which I believe Powell lost both of those. All their other games were cupcakes.

Nobody has to guess about who he played. All his games are still available for free on Diamond Clear if you want ot see every play this year.

Well, you being a florida resident I understand your bias. I will admit I buy my dog food in florida, a 17lb bag of kibble and bits turns into a 45lb bag when it crosses the line into Tennessee.

Currently about 200 NFL players are from Florida with a population of 21 million. 50 call Tennessee home with a population of 7 million. Including former players gives a similar ratio.

You need to look at that math again. There are 3 times as many people in FL and 4 times as many players in the pros. That is not a similar ratio. TN = 1:140K, FL = 1:105K. That is a very large difference.

You need to read again. If you went back and included 200 former fl kids in the NFL you would be including 50 TN kids. The point I'm making is that Tennessee DOES produce quality players.
