Not the way I remember it. He was not a priority target because HE chose not to be. He and the kid from Oak Ridge were both coveted but our coaching status was justification to look elsewhere. Never had ill will for either. Have no problem with their HS supporters following their careers in college and beyond. Will be several instate guys this year who look elsewhere due to our programs recent years. This years trajectory does not heal the scars of their other three years of following us. They all have risk/reward analysis to perform and have established relationships with other programs. They are not driven by their neighbors or even their family's allegiances. If they were not raised in Orange, had UT game days prioritized, and been positively influenced by actions of VOLS around them, the impact of talking heads and staffs from programs that have been at the top or headed that way will cost us. Just the way it is everywhere.
