Didn’t see this one coming, but excited for him! What position(s) does he play?

Has to be PWO. We not wasting another scholarship on a WR with the loaded WR room we have.
I dont profess to know whether he is a PWO or is receiving scholarship money. If its a scholarship , i hardly think its a waste of a scholarship

Yea waste was the wrong word. No offense to the kid.

Still pretty certain he is a PWO. Wouldn't make sense to add another scholarship WR while we facing scholarship reductions.

Good add for potential special teams help as well as emergency depth. If he can climb his way up the depth chart even better.

Nice pick up, you bring him in and let him push Staley & Dodson at the slot. If he stayed at ETSU another year or so he likely would be a sought after transfer.

“It’s home,” Winton told GoVols247. “I grew up in Neyland. On top of that, I couldn’t have came into a better offensive scheme.”
“We honestly haven’t gotten too into that,” he said of his opportunity with the offense. “I’ve been around, so I’ve made it clear I just want to come in and help out wherever I can, embody the ‘give my ALL to Tennessee’ motto.

“I’m excited to get back home and work. Really happened fast and last-second.”
The older Winton has three years of eligibility remaining and will be a redshirt sophomore this fall.

Former Knoxville Catholic football star Tommy Winton III has transferred to Tennessee as a preferred walk-on, he announced Monday.
The 5-foot-10, 196-pound wide receiver is leaving East Tennessee State after a freshman season in which he made the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team.
Winton, a redshirt sophomore, had 23 catches for 349 receiving yards and returned four kickoffs for 99 yards in 2023.
Catholic's Tommy Winton (7) runs the ball against West at West High School in Knoxville, Tenn. on Friday, October 23, 2020.

At Catholic, he played both wide receiver and defensive back and was an all-state and all-region player. He had 3,154 receiving yards and 43 touchdowns in four years.
Winton was a three-star player ranked the No. 72 athlete and No. 29 player in Tennessee in the 2022 class, according to 247Sports. He received a Tennessee offer as a sophomore in high school.
