'21 TN WR Walker Merrill (Tennessee signee)

Why can't any of you all call a spade a spade when it comes to Heupel? Or any HC for the Vols while they're the coach?

He has to do a better job of rotating!
Many people can see this OBVIOUS problem.
Calloway
Merrill
Holiday were all dudes that have proved they can make plays with the ball in their hands.
But Heupel almost never let them on the field all for the sake of "getting the defense tired".

Just throwing the ball to 3 dudes and never anyone else is extremely discouraging if you're a player that has been practicing his butt off and doing all the right things. Yet still on game day you ride the pine.

I like the job he is doing in stacking up wins.

He would have been buried anyway. Especially if we landed Donte Thornton. Seemed to be getting recruited over as well. Sucks but heupels not gonna change his offense so more kids can play. We had the number 1 offense only playing 4 recievers the whole year basically. Heupel won’t and shouldn’t change his offense just to get more kids involved

We aren’t gonna change our offensive philosophy that got us the number 1 ranked offense in the country just so more kids could play. This is big boy football. If he wanted to play he should have beat out bru McCoy and Ramil Keyton. This ain’t little league where everyone gets their fair share of playing time

Calloway and Holliday didn’t really prove anything…in fact, Calloway had a drop in a key situation. There’s not going to be a lot of rotating when we play hurry up. We had 5 WR’s with at least 400 yards this year and a Biletnikof winner. Your 3 definite pros are going to play as long as they are not injured. Heupel actually does a great job getting young guys playing in the 3 buy games (plus Vandy) because that hasn’t always been the case at UT.

Nobody is going to complain about something that's working. Yeah...you would expect a little rotation, but I doubt Hyatt has the stats to win the Biletnikoff if he rotated out more.

I think guys like Holiday, Calloway, and Merrill were a big enough drop in talent from the starters that Heupel didn't want to rotate them in much or, in Calloway's case...they just didn't trust him. Nimrod and Webb are Heupel's recruits that will have a year under their belt...so he may rotate a little more next season. We'll see...but you can't expect fans to complain about the receiver rotation when the offense is working and Heupel's staff seems to be pretty good at getting production out of whoever they put on the field.

Sucks. Wanted a local kid to be dominant in this offense but thats the way it goes. Hope he ends up at like USF or WKU and crushes it.

11-2 number 1 offense in the country is the only spade I care about good luck to Walker this is new era football we have plenty of depth at Wr on the roster and coming in… wish he would’ve stayed but I’m not worried at all…

Coaches job is to win games, not to please fans! Although you’d think winning games would make this fan base happy after the purgatory we’ve been thru! That’s this instant gratification everyone gets a trophy generation we’re dealing with now. Keep winning and kids will wanna sit n wait their turn (see Bama and Jawja) just keep winning coach and if they don’t wanna be a VOL then good luck and next!

1 Heupels mismanagement of the offense led to the Number 1 crew in the country.

2 Holliday committed 2 critical ST penalties and Callaway had a huge drop and an embarrassing ejection.

3 With your amazing knowledge of the situation…..which of our receivers should we have taken away from to give targets to Hollliday and Callaway??

4 You’re rapidly becoming the worst poster on this site.

If you're the 5th receiver, you're about the last one that will see any meaningful snaps, but it will still be very few as long as 1-3 are healthy. #4 still rotates frequently. #5 and further down are the clean up guys that see time with a big lead on weak non cons, Mizzou and Vandy. With two reliable TE's, even #5 won't see the field much. Actually a good problem to have.

How can anyone question anything Heupel does on offense? You’re not gonna win this debate with him bc that’s not a good faith argument. It’s absurd.
