TN's SEC Tourney Scenarios

I did not see the scenario if the Saturday winners are UT, Bama, LSU, Kentucky. I think the winners will be UT, Bama, LSU definitely, but not sure at UK/Florida game.

Edited original post to add this scenario

It looks like the scenarios come down to this...

If UT wins and Ole miss loses, UT is a 5 seed and plays on Thursday.

If UT wins and Ole Miss wins, UT is a 3 or 4 seed and gets the double bye.

There is only one scenario where this isn't true: If Tennessee beats Missouri, Alabama loses to Georgia, Ole Miss loses to LSU and Kentucky loses to Florida.
1. Florida
2. Ole Miss (4-2)
3. Kentucky (3-2)
4. Tennessee (3-4)
5. Missouri (2-3)
6. Alabama (2-3)

However, our opponents for friday's potential game would change with each scenario.

I'm curious...how many are hoping for the double bye, and how many are hoping for the single bye and playing a bad team the first game???

I've become convinced that all that Thursday's game can do is hurt us. If we win, it won't help our chances and will just mean we are playing another bubble team on short rest Friday.

Friday's game is the one we need to help solidify a NCAA spot. In my mind, all Thursday's game can do is damage our chances greatly with a loss. I know they say that they look at the whole season but it would be hard to ignore a loss that bad while other bubble teams play on throughout the weekend potentially picking up quality wins. I don't think it would matter so much if there were not so many SEC bubble teams.

If Tennessee beats Missouri, Alabama loses at Georgia, Ole Miss loses to LSU and Kentucky beats Florida
1. Florida
2. Kentucky
3. Ole Miss (4-1)
4. Missouri (2-2)
5. Tennessee (2-3)
6. Alabama (1-3)

If Tennessee beat Missouri, Alabama loses to Georgia, Kentucky beats Florida and Ole Miss beats LSU
1. Florida
2. Kentucky
3. Ole Miss
4. Tennessee (2-1)
5. Missouri (1-1)
6. Alabama (1-2)

Edited to add as requested:

If Tennessee beats Missouri, Kentucky beats Florida, Alabama beats Georgia, and LSU beats Ole Miss
1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Kentucky
4. Ole Miss (3-1)
5. Tennessee (1-2)
6. Missouri (1-2)
Tennessee wins the tie break with Missouri because they beat Florida[/QUOTE]

Well here are the 3 scenarios:

Im personally pulling for the last one. We get the 5 seed and possibly play Ole Piss in the Quarterfinal.

Plus I want Ole Piss to lose again.

Maybe I'm missing this scenario and someone can point it out....

What happens if
UT wins
KY wins (already happened)
Bama wins
Ole miss wins

I realize we'd be the 5, Missouri would be 6. Bama ky and ole miss would all tie for 2nd. But who holds the tie break between just those three? More specifically, who would be the 4?

Now with the UK win we need Bama to lose, Ole Miss win and of course a UT victory. We will be 4th if that happens.

What about if Bama and Ole Miss both wins?

Why wouldn't we want to play MO? A loss to MO in the SECT does nothing to hurt us. A loss to Ole Miss might end the season

No we do want 4 seed, It would be a lot easier to make a run at the SEC championship with a double bye

When talking about making a run you have to take into account opponents...do you see us beating Missouri 2 games in a row? Or beating ole miss more likely?

Not UK
I think ole miss would be the 4

We win against Mizzou today, we likely need 1 SECt win to seal a bid. It would behoove us to play a worse team after a single bye than risk playing a team that has beaten us with a double bye, and we get no SECt win at all.

Uk, ole miss, and Bama are all 1-1 against each other. But UK beat Florida so they become #2.

Then it goes to head to head and since ole miss beat Bama. They get 3rd and Bama gets 4th. Sound right?

If my math and tie breaks are accurate this would put...

1. UF
2. UK
3. Ole Miss
4. Bama
5. UT
6. Missouri

This would be best scenario I've seen, we are the 5, and would get Bama in our first game. If this is accurate its definitely what I'm pulling for

So it's not just down to Missouri and ole miss then?

We could be the 5 and draw Bama?

That's what I'm pulling for!
