To all of those bashing Bray

and honestly, i didn't want to see this team beat Vandy and Missou if it mean't one more possible year of Dooley....does that mean i quit as a fan...well Dooley has that affect on you i guess

I can't understand why any true fan would pull for the Vols to lose but to each his own, I suppose.

which weould you take 2 wins over missou and vandy and another failure season unbder Dooley or 2 losses and then a great season next year with a great new coach and future????? easy answer there...one hting is clear with Dooley we would NEVER be good...not that is what hurts knowing that each year will be a disaster...would i trade 2 losses that aren't even important anymopre as the seaosn is already int he trash can to avoid that horrible fate...you are damn right i would

But hey in your world you can have wins over mediocre Mizzou and Vandy and keep Dools for one more year of ceratin mediocrity...no thnaks....i'll take my world any day of the week

In your earlier post, you said you didn't want this team to beat Vandy or Mizzou. Now you say you didn't pull for us to lose. Having trouble keeping your arguments straight?

I am saying the season was already a failure and at that point the future was much more important than wins over 2 mediocre teams that don't even matter. With a good coach we are an SEC contender next year...with Dooley we aren't even bowl eligible once again.

A world where we get to quit when things get tough. No thanks

We need about 100 more of these threads...Bray gave his all for UT and is the most talented QB we have had since Manning and yet he has been treated like garbage...if i were him i say F%^% all of you i'm leaving...seriously we have the biggest morons on the planet posting this stuff for the players to read...the only people that need to be bashed are the ones making the big bucks Dooley and the staff....you think someone like Petrino or Saban would be losing with out current roster?????

People inciting players against the coaches was one of the worst problems of the Dooley era. That is you.

wow just wow!! with any kind of decent defense we are a top 10 team this year...

Bray is easily the best QB we have had since Martin and manning...clearly he and the team threw in the towel against Vandy but do you really blame them???? would Ainge and Clausen had done any better with this attrocity of a defense?

Do you think any other QB in our history would do well when you have to score 50 + points EVERY game to win??? it's impossible for anyone...did you see how Mcarron looked mortal and struggled after Bama went down a few scores against Texas A&M...when your defens is playing poorly it puts all kinds of pressure on the QB and offense and mistakes begin to happen..

Derick Dooley is the worst football coach UT has ever had in my honest opinion and it's clear that none of the players want to play for him...no leadership and constantly throwing players under the buss for his coaching woes yet Bray our most talented and exciting QB in a very long time gets all the heat...you are all morons who bash Bray seriously...with a good coach and defense he is easily a heisman frontrunner....QB was not our problem this year it was all on Dooley's gameday decisions lack of preparatin and no defense....the worst defense in the history of Tennessee footbasll.....even if we had the current NFL version of Peyton manning we would still be a losing team with this attrocity of a defense...

Whos Derick?

Bray is not even better than Casey Clausen, so don't compare him to Manning and Martin. Clausen didn't have the physical tools that Bray has but he had great leadership skills and knew how to win, especially on the road.

Guts and grit is what Casey had. And yes, he won some games he should not have. He also had the brain of a cat though. I prefer QBs to have....SOMETHING....going on upstairs. Did you ever hear Casey in an interview. LOL! It was kind of embarrassing.

I agree that Bray has been bashed too much. He doesn't handle pressure well, though he has improved over the season, IMO. He also pouts when things don't go his way and has shown poor judgement more than once.

Nevertheless, he is a heck of a QB and I agree with the OP...it was nice to see us move the ball for a change. Holy **** have we had some bad offenses since 2007.

Except for the fact that he's no where in the same hemisphere as Martin and Manning.

You know why? Cause they both valued their craft and their team more than themselves. They didn't go out on the weekends and during the summer and do thing that would put them at risk.

Having a rocket arm doesn't make you something special. Doing something because you have a rocket arm makes you special.

He declined the opportunity to coach this week.

Most coaches finish what they start

First of all, crunchy said Dooley quit first, before the Vandy game, so he obviously wasn't referring to that. Secondly, I think that was the correct decision--for h to coach would have taken the attention off of the team, particularly the seniors, and towards him. Too much of a distraction.

You disagree with the fact that he thought the best chance for the players was to have him absent considering he had been fired? Really?

Joker is coaching Kentucky. Phil Fulmer finished out his year. Johnny Majors finished out his year.

I was ok with Derek leaving. But can't you see how someone could say he quit?

Sorry, I didn't read that far back.

I really think the correct decision is not to coach. I think TN will won--if there were something sinister in his decision, he would coach to try to get a W on his record.

Considering this season? No, I can't see it.

But I'm just a female college football fan. If my son was on the team, I would hope he could tell his former coach goodbye and play his last game. And I would hope that former coach step out of the picture.

Ok, I can see both of your points of view.

I do agree that doing it this way is easier for all involved
