To everyone who thinks Bray is an NFL lock ...

To say he wont make a roster is careless. Plenty of teams would love to have a player with Brays skill set as a backup. I guarantee at least half the offenses coaches in the league believe that they can "fix" him.

I agree. Bray is not a lost cause. Seems immature at times...but the mechanics are there. He should stay 1 more year, but, the same development would be needed after next year as well, why prolong it?

CFL bound.....if that.

It is hard to say at this point. If Bray gets drafted by a team with a mentor who will work with him and who has a good coaching staff, he could well succeed. Tom Brady was a 6th round pick and Russle Wilson a fourth, so thinking Bray could succeed isn't unrealistic. Yes, he lacks some leadership and maturity that could make him a higher pick; however, he is young and these things can be learned. I became thoroughly disguisted with the coaching staff that Bray had, why would one expect that he wouldn't also. He really didn't have the best motivators or teachers. Part of the coaches job is to develop these kids into mature resonsible young men. Our previous coaching staff failed on many levels. I hope he does well and wish him nothing but the best. That being said, I also believe it is in the Best interest of the team that he leave at this time.

You lost TenGlen when you said Bray didn't have great coaching. Bray and other players are the main reason Dooley failed. In TG's eyes Dooley is a God.

Bray's QB coach and Offensive Co-ordinator was the same one that Kyle Orton and Drew Brees did so well under at Purdue. Dooley was not his position coach or co-ordinator.

Tom Brady and Russell Wilson actually won some big games when they were in college. They put their teams on their backs and led them down the field in the 4th quarter. If you can't do it in college (and Bray couldn't), I just don't see how you're suddenly going to turn it on and start beating NFL secondaries on a consistent basis. I wish him well, but I just don't see it.

How is that? Have you seen any mock drafts or draft projections? Bray will be taken in the top three rounds. He will get a chance to start at some point and who knows how he will do. The CFL will not be in the picture at all.

Bray will do fine and will absolutley be drafted. So much hate towards are players is why A. Foster gives UT no love.

He will be drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round becuase he has a big arm.

Start showing former Vols love people, they are spokesmen for our University and help in recruiting.

Watch that goofball playing QB for Mississippi State today and remember that he outplayed Bray head-to-head, along with virtually every other quarterback in the SEC. Playing at the next level is about rising to the occasion, both in training camp and then on Sundays. Yes, Bray put up some great numbers and has a ton of natural ability, but when did he ever rise to the occasion and do something great at UT? Forget the lousy coaching ... when did Tyler Bray strap the team on his back and refuse to lose in a big spot? Maybe I'm wrong and he can simply turn on that intangible attribute at the next level, but I just don't see it.

This is pointless.....
Some moron post his 'expertise' on whether a player will be drafted or not; or whether they will be successful in the NFL......
You have NO CLUE......
Unless you ARE a NFL scout or coach, your OPINION counts ZERO....
As if your some kind of expert; or really have a clue about anything you are saying....
Get out of your grandmothers basement once in a while......

Bray, Hunter, Patterson.....thanks for being a VOL. Good luck at the next level. I will cheer for you; hope you make it! If not, may your next phase in life be successful.

For all you pseudo- Mel Kiper what-a-be's...keep your dumb a$$ , ill-informed analysis to your self.

I don't have the words or the patience to explain how incredibly stupid it is to say that Tyler Bray didn't prove anything in his time at UT, so I'll just let the stats speak for themselves.

Keeping in mind that he didn't start for half of the 2010 season, was hurt for a large percentage of 2011 and isn't coming back for his senior year, here are Tyler Bray's stats on Tennessee's all-time career lists:

4th in touchdowns
4th in passing yards
5th in completions
4th in attempts

He would more than likely own all of these records if he were to return.

Among active QBs in the NCAA:

6th in passing yards per game
6th in passing touchdowns
6th in total total offense per play
8th in career passing touchdowns
10th in total passing yards
13th in total offense per game
15th in passing efficiency

Still keeping in mind his injury and that he won't play his senior year, some SEC statistics:

7th most TD passes in a season in SEC history
11th in single season passing yards in SEC history
Most 300 yard games among active SEC QBs
2nd most single-game passing yards in SEC history, 14 yards short of the record
4 career 400 yard games, only the second Vol to achieve such a feat
2 games with 5 TD passes, 10 games with 4 TD passes, 3 or more touchdowns in 13 games

His 2012 Stats: Tyler finished the year with a 146.25 passer rating, 3,612 yards (301 per game), 34 touchdowns and 12 interceptions

But here's the most telling statistic of all: In his game against Troy, Tyler threw for 5 touchdowns and 530 yards – a TN record and the 2nd most in SEC history – and we still nearly lost the freaking game!

Do you know why we almost lost that game? I will tell you the secret that the rest of the country and all of the ESPN-Hates-US experts already knew: because our team sucked. Because, outside of our offense, which Tyler Bray commanded, which was excellent all year long, we were a bottom-feeder team in the SEC.

Do you know what a team with a great quarterback and one of the statistically worst defenses in the NCAA looks like? The 2012 Tennessee Volunteers.

The games we lost in 2012 were not a testament to Tyler Bray's abilities or leadership. That we somehow managed to win the games we did despite having the worst defense in Tennessee history are a testament to Tyler Bray's abilities and leadership.

They also had a defense.....it's a TEAM sport

There is only one stat about Bray that has any importance. He left the program . Let's move on. He is no longer the QB at Tennessee.

I'm saying the Tyler Bray I've seen play does not have the maturity or the natural leadership it takes to lead an NFL team. He will not make the players around him better, and once adversity hits, he will sink fast. He will definitely be drafted, but I do not think he is a lock to make an NFL roster, and someone will have to be willing to let him sink before he will ever shine.

I think the Tyler Bray you saw didn't care about being at UT. The Tyler Bray that gave a crap left after Justin Hunter got hurt last year. This Tyler Bray knew he was NFL bound. I'm not saying he will do well in the NFL, I'm just saying he might surprise you.

Are you Tyler Bray? That's a lot to know about a guy. Hey, if you are Tyler Bray, then I wish you the best of luck. Seeing you play in 2010 was pretty freakin awesome. Pretty much the rest of it was horrible for tons of reasons. Now go make some money.

It shouldn't make very much difference in how one does his job. I was raised to have pride in my work, and do it the best I could regardless of the situation.

You're right man. Playing football is just like doing chores at home. The head coach doesn't matter. I'm positive the New Orleans Saints fans agree with you.

bray would be better off not getting drafted so he can pick his own team that needs a qb.

I answered a post in which someone said that Bray had basically no coaching at U.T. I replied that he had Chaney and Hinshaw. I believe that he had coaching, but chose not to pay much attention to it. He looked to me like he flew by the seat of his pants. I think that he could have had Cutcliffe or Sunseri, and it wouldn't have made a whole lot of difference.

As far as the head coach goes, if Bray's head coach had been Saban, he would have never seen the field.

You're just wrong. It all flows from the head coach. Period. Bray has a very good shot at playing in the league.

It does flow from the head coach, but I don't think the flow has much impact on Bray. Also, please show me in which post I said that Bray wouldn't play in the league. I don't know or care whether he plays or not . I am a fan of Tennessee football. He's gone.

Does it bother you that Casey Clausen and Joey Matthews aren't playing in the league? Tyler Bray means no more to me than those guys. I don't hate him, but I really don't care where he goes from here any more than I care about some Lady Vol on the rowing team.
