The only fans that will be missed is those that stop going to Neyland and those that buy UT stuff. I myself will keep one eye open for improvement but no more blind acceptance. This was a desperation hire to meet recruiting deadlines. The leadership that decided to make this hire without a professional search firm should be fired today.

If only 5,000 season ticket holders, who average 4 tickets each leave, that amounts to $7,000,000. And if each of these donates $1,000 for another $5,000,000, total of $12,000,000. But sure tell them to GTFO, UT want miss them or their money. And it could be a lot worse than this.

Oh Well, the new breed of loser fans will take our place......have fun losing.....loser's.....it's been so long since the Vols played football that most of the young fans can't remember what it was like to actually see Old time Tennessee Football....distant memories....it is what it is

Maybe you're dense, so I'll try to explain this simply.

I never told anyone to GTFO.
I told the people who said they're G'ingTFO to stay gone.
Nothing would make me happier than to have a fanbase full of diehards.
I'm not trying to cull anybody.
I'm telling the people who're voluntarily leaving to stay gone.

It has nothing to do with whether you approve of this hire, or the last hire, or the next hire.
Tennessee football is bigger than any one man.
It's analogous to renouncing your American citizenship because you don't like who won an election.
Hey, that's your business, but don't call yourself a patriot when things swing back to the good.

I understand if you're disappointed in this hire.
I'm actually kind of optimistic myself, but that's not the point.
I also understand if you're not going to as many games or buying as much merch.
That's not what I'm talking about.

I'm talking to the very specific subset of our "fanbase" who said "That's it, I'm done being a fan."
To them I say "Good riddance. Don't come back."
If you don't fall into that category, I'm not talking to you.

Enjoy wasting your Saturdays watching a pissport team go 5-7 for the next couple of years and then making up Gruden rumors in 2015. Enjoy the moral victories over Austin Peay and South Alabama next year, cause that's the only team from Alabama that the Vols are going to beat in the future. Enjoy watching this team get crushed by Florida, Georgia, and Bama (like every year). Most of all, have fun losing to Vandy and competing with UK for last place in the SECEast.

Call me a fair weather fan, I don't care. But the occasional joy this team brings every 10 years doesn't outweigh the misery that this university causes me on a consistent basis. All my life I've been a fan and "given my all for UT" but it's not reciprocal. I'm sick of being disappointed and embarrassed to be a fan of this team. And I certainly won't be getting upset and crying when this team gets 70 put on them by Oregon next year on their road to 4-8.

No, you don't get to be defiant. You're not a real fan and you never have been. You have no right to celebrate any of Tennessee's past or future accomplishments, because you and everyone else who's "done" with the program is a fraud who doesn't deserve to be acknowledged, let alone allowed to consider themselves Tennessee fans. There is nothing respectable about it.

That may sound sarcastic, but it's not. Anyone who stops being a Tennessee fan over this can go **** themselves.

HE IS THE HEAD COACH OF THE VOLSand that's that. I bet the same people doing all this bi#%hing are the same ones that swore if Dooley is not fired after vandy I am not going to the Kentucky game. Well he was fired and I bet you still didn't go. Just a reason to piss and moan. Don't get me wrong I think we could have done better but we didn't so, Welcome Coach Jones and thank you for taking the challenge of coaching the VOLS and I hope you accomplish great things here. GO VOLS
