Has anyone else ever dissed their school to this extent? What a piece of freaking garbage! It was one thing for him to publicly diss us in favor of the little weezle. But now to blatant bash one of the best talents our state has produced of late...USC has had to issue a formal apology because it's gotten so much publicity. I can't ever remember a school having to issue an apology to a high school kid. And of all people, Tee Martin. To everyone that defended him when he made a spectacle of us...what say you now?

It was an offhand comment made basically in private and was nothing more than an opinion. Calm down.

Was it confirmed that it was T? The only thing that I can think of is that coaches are mercenaries. They have no loyalties except for the almighty dollar.

he gets roasted for having the same opinion as so many on this board when it comes to recruits committing elsewhere? Good grief

You can thank Dooley. He really burned bridges with Tee.

Ah, there it is. Once again, everything is Dooley's fault.

Tee, or whomever, was expressing his opinion on a recruit. He would have had the same opinion wherever the recruit went. It's not directed at UT but you ladies can whine all you want.

How do we know defintely that it was Tee??

Wouldn't it be funny if Hurd won the Heisman before he graduated and had a 1,600 yard regular season rushing total.

would he be soft then????

I think the difference with what you are saying is Tee has a direct connection to UT which is where Hurd signed. Do I think his comment was uncalled for and made out of disappointment, yes. Does that mean I think he should have his Vol card pulled, no.

Regardless of who it was, the comment was ignorant. Sure people act butt hurt on VolNation when guys leave us for our competition, but they also don't get paid lots of money by a university to recruit and act professional. You can't really think that someone at USC thought no one was listening when he made that comment? Whoever it was knew that what they said about Hurd was going to be leaked. That to me sounds like an intentional blow that was countered by an excuse by saying it was supposed to be a "private" setting.

UT does not sign Tee's paycheck and Hurd was also a guy Tee had direct contact with. All he basically said was "didn't want him anyway" and the freakout commenced.

and yet to the person , almost all still worship Manning over Tee....

Not to stir the pot, but the impact Manning has had on UT from (almost) the day he stepped on campus to now is far and away greater than anything Tee has ever done, and ''it ain't even close''. This isn't even an argument. I don't worship Manning, and loved Tee when he played here, so take that for what it's worth.

I think most Vol fans (myself included) are just tired of being the butt of jokes, kicked while we're down, etc., and this is PERCEIVED to be another shot at our beloved Vols. I don't expect Tee to kiss UT's @$$ every chance he's on a mic, and I'd actually lose respect for him if he did. He's a competitor, coaching at another school and he needs to be loyal to his employer. I DO, however, expect him to maybe show a little more love for his alma mater than what it appears he has over the last couple of years.
Obviously, he doesn't owe us anything, he played his tail off while he was here and brought us some great years but he sounds awfully immature in his "soft and turrrible" comments about an 18 yr old kid.

Right... I'm sure if Hurd went to USC, Tee would have had the same opinion. :pilot:

. . . and I'm sure no Tennessee people would be bringing up injury issues and saying we're better off not taking the risk.
