To our VN recruiting experts, what...

I honestly don't think that was his intent. As I said in my post above depending on the information that is wanted the actual player thread may be the quickest way to obtain it ( at least for the committed players). I keep up with this stuff fairly well and find my self frequently clicking on the player thread and going back to the original bio page to look at game video.
His point is valid, his presentation is not. Never said he had to give the information, just where to find it without the implications of the way it was said.

Primarily you could have pointed out where to find the information and leave out the rest of the junk. Not saying you had to give the information, just do it without the rest of the attitude. Just stating "here is where to find the information" without essentially saying "you are an idiot for not knowing this" makes a huge difference in how it is perceived. Not PC, just common courtesy.

did he hurt your feelings?

it's YOUR perception of the presentation. if i was really gonna be a dick about it, it would have just linked every player's thread to my response. lol.

the whole point of "not to be a dick" is because i knew how it would be taken.

take it or leave it. doesn't matter to me.

My only question, why did you feel compelled to start the way you did? Not everyone is offended by being shown the location of where information can be found.

There are a thousand different ways you could have said that without it becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. You came off exactly as a condescending.......... Not everyone has the same level of understanding/commitment.

I didn't see anything condescending in jake's post. It looked to me like he went out of his way not to be offensive to the op and even took the time to offer suggestions on how to find info.

I will defer to discuss the topic anymore. All I will say in closing, if someone you did not know answered a legitimate question you made in that manner; what would you think?

I just told you what I thought. I guess if I was op I could be mad that jake didn't take the time to write out a summary at my request, but that would be on me, not jake, who actually provided me with ways to get the info Ias seeking. And since I occasionally drift over to the FF and see some of the snarky comments that people respond with when someone asks a question, jake's response seemed rather harmless to me.

3. DL is where I think our class is the weakest given our graduating class. Bringing in a couple of JUCO guys that look pretty good and should help immediately but the lack of younger players concern me. Cox by his own admission is looking like he will stick to his commitment and honestly he looks better than I thought.

4. LB class at this point is also weak. The Pappoe news is disappointing, but if we get Russell and Brown they look like good athletes players that are mostly unheralded. Lakia Henry is a JuCo player that hopefully sticks. Marshall, Henry To, and Crouch have the star rating behind them but look to be long shots.

I think this is an area where a lot of people have not focused because we all assumed that this staff would recruit lights out on defense and we've had numbers on the board for awhile. Here is what I keep reading:

Middleton is not ready to play SEC football and may not be a take at this point.
Harrison we have to hope that our staff knows something no other staff knows because nobody else at the level we aspire to offered him.
Simmons is a project.
Cox not going to be part of the class.
Clemmons will not be in the class.
Henry is similar situation to Middleton. Henry is a take but some are hoping he will flip.

So out of the current commits for DL/LB, it seems like Williams is the only one that anyone could reasonably expect to do much next year.

Again, this is what I've read. I don't scout these kids and I have to rely on media for my info.

or, you could just take it at face value. i know how it was going to sound, hence my preface to the statement.

i realize not everone comes in to the RF and may not keep up like some of us do.

so, not to be a dick, but instead of someone taking their time out to give you a recap of all that information you want, here's how the threads work so you can peruse and find info yourself, easier than you may have thought previously.

if that makes me condescending or a dick, i'm ok with that.

"not to be a dick" but I am gonna be one anyway......that is exactly how your post reads. no need for that message.

I believe what the OP is saying is that the recruiting threads for each player are huge and those of us who do not follow are usually to busy to sit for hours and read through 32 pages of comments that most are smartass or insulting to others. I think he was looking for just a quick thought about the players those of you who follow recruiting think we will sign.

the players we're after are typically molded to Pruitt's idea of football players. Bigger safeties, Cb's, Lber's and DL.

Still lacking in a big time QB till '20.

Needs are WR, HB, OL, DL, LB... **** it. Every position except CB and Safety.
