BREAKING NEWS: Ex-Louisville cop Brett Hankison is found not guilty of wanton endangerment after firing into Breonna Taylor's neighbor's apartment during botched raid

  • Former Louisville cop Brett Hankison has been acquitted on all charges in the March 2020 drug raid that ended with Breonna Taylor's death
A Kentucky jury acquitted a former Louisville cop on all charges in the March 2020 drug raid that ended with Breonna Taylor's death.

Brett Hankison, 45, was found not guilty of three counts of wanton endangerment for firing shots that ripped into a neighboring apartment on Thursday afternoon after the jury heard five days of witness testimony.

Hankison was tried for firing shots during the raid that went through a sliding-glass side door and a window of Taylor's apartment and into a unit next door where a couple and small child lived.

Had he been found guilty, he faced one to five years in prison for each charge.

Get pulled over on a dangerous Interstate for a traffic violation and this might be your fate. Thank God the police were protecting and serving.

Definitely the officer’s fault that the dumbass pulled to the left of the interstate and that another Dumbass was also speeding and not paying attention

Why write a ticket in a place like this. Have you ever been on I-40 in west Knoxville? It's 70+ mph each direction. So pick someone out and write a revenue generator when you have 6000 cars an hour driving by.

Because clearly there are several people driving recklessly here and that’s the job of state troopers. And yes I used to write tickets some on 1-40 and know the difference between a little speeding and driving recklessly. The officer isn’t the one who pulled over to the left like this retarded person did. And even then, the other driver was driving 20 over the speed limit and lost control of their vehicle and wasn’t even ON the roadway. That’s not the officer’s fault and it’s silly to suggest it is

Why do people do stupid shot like that? Turn your flashers on and keep going until there is a safe place to get off the road or at least a wide shoulder. Never pull off on the left shoulder.

I wonder if they still got the ticket?

I wish I could say that I am shocked.

There’s a spot on I 64 in Norfolk that is 55 and everyone goes 70, it’s about an 8 mile stretch. It is unsafe for both drivers and police to pull anyone over in this area left or right single shoulders. The police have done the smart thing and do not pull them over in that area. They wait for the bottleneck with double wide shoulders on the right only, with no left shoulder, for safety.
That police officer could have easily been killed. He should have told him to slow down and go on once he was stopped at a dangerous spot up against a jersey wall with traffic all doing 70.
No code enforcement is worth someone’s life if the flow of all traffic is 70.

But, but but but, it's for everyone's safety. There is a stretch of interstate in every city where traffic moves on at a good clip. A police stop in one of those places just jacks up traffic and make the entire area unsafe.

What did the police do “wrong” in your opinion
Why do they pull people over on a heavily travelled highway with thousands of other cars zooming by during a highly congested part of the day? This crash could have been avoided if the robber ticket baron would have just flashed his lights behind the car and let him go.

Honestly though that is not a lot of traffic going by. Not anything like what is seen on I-40 through Knoxville at times.

I'm sure none of our freedom loving cops in red states would enforce this or assist the ATF.

"We're Now Living Out Minority Report" - ATF Unofficially Declares Solvent Traps To Be Suppressors | ZeroHedge

Solvent Traps are devices that can be used when cleaning firearms to catch the cleaning solution if poured down the barrel. The Solvent Trap helps prevent mess, and if in the field can help prevent harmful chemicals from being dumped into the environment.

The ATF felt that because Diversified Machine's solvent trap had a dimpled end to it, it could be more easily drilled out and turned into a suppressor. Therefore, the ATF considered it to be a suppressor. Most solvent traps are not sold with dimpled ends.

Some absolutely would. Some would ignore it. I know some cops and a US Marshall that would 100% turn a blind eye to stuff like this and truly are only interested in going after the murderers and pedophiles, but I also know a detective (who I do like as a person) that would turn in his own mom if she had one of these.

Judges and DAs are the protectors of bad cops.

According to court documents obtained by Law&Crime, the judge in the case suspended a four-year prison term in favor of probation. The State ordered Beck to have no contact with the victim or her family, be subject to random drug screenings, and serve 150 hours of community service. If Beck violates his probation, he faces the original sentence.

For the original charges, Beck faced 30 years in prison for each of the two rape charges and 15 years for each sexual battery charge, per Tennessee law, for a total of 90 years behind bars. The legal age of consent in the state is 18 years old.

You just can’t make this **** up.

“Considering all the facts, evidence, and circumstances, as well as all possible defenses that could be raised in trial, this settlement was made in the best interests of obtaining justice for the victim,” a spokesperson with the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office told Oxygen.com over email. “The defendant will have a felony on his record, and can no longer carry a gun or be in law enforcement.”
