One guy that made the NBA and a short handed roster of typical SEC talent. Problably was better talent than originally thought of but far from what anybody called loaded. It was only 7 or 8 scholarship guys if I'n remembering correctly. They added Childress late who was basicly mid-major talent.Pretty loaded. Best PG we've had up there. Lofton. JuJuan Smith. Andre Patterson. Asumnu. Wingate. Buzz recruited pretty well
It was a perfect collection of players to press and run. You're right, it wasn't really "loaded". Pearl did a great job maximizing their talents. Tennessee needs to learn to consistently attack the rim if it wants to reach the Final 4. Knecht is the only player on the team that does that now.Other than the obvious “make shots”, I think we have to figure out rebounding. Against these larger teams we’re getting killed on the boards. If we’re committed to small ball somehow we have to rebound better
Those two fit Pearls system perfectly and were what two or three star recruits? I think they were better than expected in terms of talent but neither would be near as good in a different system. Lofton was the best contested shooter I've ever seen. How many coaches out there even allow him to shoot that? They had an absolute green light at all times and thrived with it.Either you’re of the opinion he developed those guys dramatically in a 4 month span, or it was a pretty loaded roster. He had a NBA veteran PG and 2 of the 3 best 3pt shooters in Tennessee history on that team.
Why 10 years, weird line to draw? Pearl is no spring chicken, if you wanna compare careers do so. If you want to compare just what they did at Tennessee then do so. If you simply want to shift and shape the conversation to fit your narrative then by all means, continue to do so.Matches him here. How many final fours does both have in their careers and in how long a career? Match them up side by side for the last 10 years. Fair?
Williams was also a 3 star as was Schofield, not sure what that matters as both are in the NBA?Those two fit Pearls system perfectly and were what two or three star recruits? I asked a simple question, and yet you couldn’t answer it.
