Tobias Harris' Draft Status?

I would say Lamar Odom is the closest comparison in style of game, fluidity, versatility, etc. Odom has a similar skill set, yet he is 6'10" where Tobais is 6'8" which changes the game a tad. I think Odom is one of the most talented individuals in the league and if he took working out and developing his game half as serious as he takes keeping his candy buffet stocked to the brim and his jar of gummy bears on the headboard he would be a perennial all-star and making D-Wade/Kobe/Lebron money.

I really wouldn't be shocked if his last season in Orange includes him averaging close to a double-double.

I heard his dad told him to stay. I don't think he's quick enough or strong enough. He's got to drive the ball with force. It's like he kinda jogs for a layup

His dad says (as recently as last weekend) that the plan is to return for a second year but that would change if Pearl leaves.

I recall his Dad saying this, too. Is he physically or mentally ready, no. A key to him staying or going is when the NCAA comes out with their charges. Since that's not until August, I think he will stay another year. Gives him time to work on his body and his game.

Pardon my ignorance, but it is a common occurrence for a player to shoot +70% 3Pt through the first few games and then look pretty bad (at times)?

Shot selection is a bia... Luol Deng is much more athletic and has a huge wingspan that TH does not possess. Deng is still more raw in basketball IQ and court savy than TH is today IMO although Deng does have a more consistent 3 ball. Harris ceiling may not be as high as some of us might think, but he will be a Chuck Hayes type NBA player the more I think about it. A capable scorer, but probably won't get his # called on very often. That being said, I still think he will have the game come to him and still fill the stat sheet and be a solid contributor at the next level.

When TH has time to lock and load when he shoots the 3, it is a solid shot. When he is pressured and has to get the shot off quick... not so hot. It also seems like he is much better in the right corner while facing the basket than on the left corner from the same perspective while stroking the long ball.

At this point he doesn't compare to any starting power forward (lake of strength) or small forward (lack of speed). If he does leave this year I could see him making the transition to the Jazz as a late first round pick because they play the flex or another relatively good team that could develop his game. He is the Luke Harangody (pre-injury) of the south.

I think Tobias would benefit from staying one more year and one more year only. He isn't crazy athletic and so he's gonna need to improve his outside shooting to be a good NBA player. I think he knows that, is working at it, and will have developed a very reliable outside stroke after another season. At which point he should go pro.

Does anyone think of Toby as being a Udonis Haslem type? I don't know whhy but I keep seeing Haslem type skills although Haslem is stronger around the basket but Toby has better ballhandling

No no no. This is a worse comparison than Marion. Deng is athletic and raw. Harris is not crazy athletic but is polished offensively.

Toni Kukoc is the best comparison.

Deng may be very athletic, to me, he does not play like it.

Toni was a 6' 11 guard and a great passer/playmaker. Not to mention perhaps the best European player of all time. I kind if see where your coming from, yet I see Tobais as more mid range pick and roll, pick and pop, rebounder at the next level.

If by "perhaps" you mean "absolutely not", you've got a point. Otherwise, that's pure madness.

Now that I think about it, Toni may not be the best Croatian player ever.

just curious, who do you think is the best European player ever?
