He was also on Urban Meyer's staff at Bowling Green. From all indications, Butch Jones and Urban Meyer are close friends, so this is probably the connection to Thigpen. A really, really good pickup if true.

Really like this hire. Good recruiter. Coached DB's for 3 yrs before moving over to LB's in 2012.

So let's review --- earlier we hired WM who is a DB coach. Later we add/hire TT who is primarily a DB coach but coached LB's one yr. This in addition to Jancek who is also a LB coach. Hmm? I truly, hope that CBJ goes outside his current staff to find a DC. Jancek is not it. IMO. This would be in line with his promise to put together the "best" (available) staff.

Sounds like Stripling is coming. An article on ESPN said that he was obviously the interm but, that upon completion of the bowl game he was going to Knoxville.
