What did the chancellor do??Westbrook is likely gone regardless. Her family’s issues with Tennessee are much deeper than the coaching staff. They’ve found fault with everyone from the Chancelor to the janitor.
I was very surprised that she did not move on after last season and even more surprised when she didn’t follow Hayes when that situation unfolded.
Holly is far from blameless in the situation, but getting rid of all the unhappy people sometimes goes both ways.
Ok now I remember Hayes. Was she and Evina an item or something?
Which starters do you think that would be? Cheridene and Meme graduate, so that leaves a pool of Evina, Rennia and Mimi. I could see Mimi leaving in protest of Holly's dismissal, but can't imagine Evina or Rennia being in her corner...especially Evina.
Thanks so much and did not know about EW. I do remember her missing a game for some violation this year.No. But they had similar issues with following through on the things that were expected of them as student-athletes. The coaching staff is complicit in not addressing those situations completely and swiftly early enough. But when one player reached the last straw, I was very surprised the other did not.
It could mean either Holly is staying and Westbrook and Davis are gone, or Holly is leaving and Collins and Green are gone.
Honestly I think she's gone, but time will tell.
I can't imagine Green being a Holly supporter. I'd think that Collins, Massengill, Burrell or Kushkituah would be the players backing Holly.
I remember hearing EW explain why she chose the LVs. She said that the girls from Oregon had nothing to do with but she went to the arena and set a long time thinking. She said she saw all the great LV jerseys retired and hanging and thought hers would fit there nicely. Oh how the world turns. It's been rumored for a while that Green and Collins would follow Holly if she was fired.
Honestly, exodus from the program after a coach is fired is just part of the solution. It's painful but it is what it is. And it's gotten so bad that it's going to happen either way because some players want to play for her (the younger ones who are still naive) and some don't, so there will likely be exodus either way.
And yes, players with problematic parents like Westbrook's typically never work out for a program. Hayes' and Cooper's parents were problematic, too, although in the end they weren't the cause of them leaving.
TBH, I'm shocked Westbrook ever picked here. She would've been an AA at a school that actually runs a real offense, like Oregon or ND, who were on her final list. Not to mention, had she picked ND she would have a NC ring.

I have said many times I thought she would get one more. Now with all the sh** thrown against the wall Fulmer I think has to make a change. Brenda Freeze is officially out of the tourney so can start with her . Wes Moore has probably one more game and it looks like Kellie may get one more as well. Get done now and let the quitters go to the transfer portal or free agency if you will!!!!Unintentionally (maybe not lol) Westbrook has backed Tennessee into a corner. If they allow Holly to come back knowing significant transfers are coming they are essentially committing to 2-3 more years because next year will be a dud. You aren’t gonna bring her back with half her roster departing, her team blows, and then say oh well fire you now.
Where are Green and Collins going to follow Holly to? The honorary job for the fired VFL office? The retirement home? Or maybe just out the door somewhere? Unlikely Holly lands another real coaching job they could follow her to.It's been rumored for a while that Green and Collins would follow Holly if she was fired.
