Basillio just tweeted:

Just got a text from Kevin Ware. "Mike Hamilton will not give me my release"

Seems sort of shady. I'd let the guy out of it considering Mike point blank told the kid that Pearl would be our coach when they talked a few weeks back.

EDIT: --- Basillio RT'd someone from Scout.com. Scout confirmed, not Basillio.

Mike knows we need as much help as possible so he won't look like a fool. He knows if we lose a lot of players we will be mediocre at best and will be lookin for his head

That's wrong. All they asked was that he wait to see who the new coach was, and he waited. He waited, he saw, and he asked, again. Yet, you turn him down?

I thought Mike told him he wanted Pearl to be the coach.

So the question is now. Does Ware actually give his all for the university while playing, since he really doens't want to be here.

Do you guys really believe that if the recruit had a face to face talk with Coach and he still wanted to leave Hammy wouldn't sign off on it?

Like it or not, it's a business. If the new coach had no problem with him being released, he'd be released by now people. Don't act like this is Mike Hamilton's call, alone.

Has he had a sit down with Coach Martin?

No. That's why ware needs to ****. He hasn't given the new guy a chance face to face. Guy is trying to Bryce brown himself. Just slow down and talk to coach after the tourney.

I doubt he shows up if he doesn't want to be here. Being released of his LOI just means that he can sign anywhere and play without sitting out a year. But please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Exactly. If he has his face to face and still wants out I will bet he will be released.

This is not a bad move. This is the appropriate action. You don't get released from UT without extenuating circumstances. Period.

If I were the kid .... I would trash Hamilton in every media venue I could. I would force them to let me go......just sayin....

When the AD comes out in full support of the coach 1 week before national signing day, "Bruce will be our coach" gets their LOI's then makes a coaching change I think both recruits can say they were intentionally mis-informed.
