Tony Basillo says today will be the last for

When is UT going to receive the trophies for the SEC titles you assured everyone UT would win if we would just be patient with the rotund simpleton masquerading as a football coach?

None exist. And he was rightfully fired. Similar circumstances may await your idol in Lexington.

You mercilessly ran JP into the ground. Saying UT wouldn't win games if he played any significance on the team. Flat out wrong.
Pull the posts. I said Tennessee could never and would never be worth a damn with him at the point. All of the mindless JP suckups babbled about how great he was in high school and how he could certainly play the position. How'd that turn out. Prince has not, is not, nor will ever be a consistently significant player.

I like JP and hope he succeeds as a player at UT.

His league sixth man trophy from last season must equate to some sense of consistant significance.

Coach BCG at UK. His kentucky source says that patterson and meeks will not play for him next year if he is retained. And yeah they are goin to lose today.:)

I have heard the same rumors--that Meeks and Patterson will refuse to play for Billy G. next year--and they seem to be no more than rumors. It sounds as if Basillio's source is the bartender at the Hopkinsville Golf & Country Club.

I have regularly questioned the acclaim Gillispie has received in light of his accomplishments, but if two players determine the future coach of Kentucky basketball, that program truly is in full disarray.

Why am I not surprised an award celebrating a player not good enough to start appeals to someone with your standards?

That's a Hell of a threat. Two guys threaten to take their talents and head to the NBDL if they don't get their way.

The same reason I'm not surprised that you fail to comprehend you are wrong.

Absolutely. He will have an easier time finding a job than UK will have finding a suitable replacement.

Therein lies part of the problem. When Tubby left, UK pursued Donovan, Calipari, Izzo, Barnes, and may have put feelers out to D'Antoni and Pitino. None of them were available.

Two years later, none of them are any more available than they were then, and I can't think of any other proven coaches of that caliber that would be, either.

If they sent BCG packing, they would most likely have to go out and hire the next BCG, a guy who has never actually won anything of significance but who shows promise of maybe becoming a top coach one day.

Yeah, my call that JPuke couldn't play point guard anywhere but a trash program like the high school where he toiled at has been so wrong.

You failing to recognize JP has been a consistent contributor to the team this year is just plain wrong.

And why you would call out his high school as a trash program is beyond reason. Especially since they had one of the best coaches in the history of the state while he was there.

They will set their program back at least four years.

It is funny. I've been in Lex for 18 years, and it has taken me this long to see the true colors of this fan base. This is the side of UK that all of my Louisville friends used to warn me about.

Fact is they haven't had the talent to win anything of any significance for at least 8 years now. If what people are saying about this incoming class is true, they may be very good next year. These fans are just a bunch of apesh@# idiots right now.

For every good thing JP Prince has done for the team this year there have been 4 or 5 bonehead, momentum killing fouls, turnovers, etc. that have cost the team dearly.

Being "one of the best coaches in the history of the state" in Tennessee is akin to being "one of the best Olympic swimmers in the history of the country" for Finland. All White Gas Station has been good at is beating pathetic competition and producing wildly overhyped players.

He can be a bonehead and the antics get old. But he has been a consistent contributor to this team this season.

I'd take JP Prince over Billy Gillispie any day...

Maybe I'm just dense, but can someone explain to me why the UK base would want to get rid of a guy after just two years? Regardless of what their perception of BCG is, shouldn't he at least get to field a team with a majority of his recruits?

There is no explaining the idiocy of the UK fanbase.

That trash program isn't too shabby at putting out D-I prospects.
