If the guy hadn't called Finebaum, he would have bragged to his buddies and he still would have been caught. There is no point in doing something like this unless people know you did it. I'm not sure that the call to Finebaum actually helped the search all that much.

But they wouldn't have tested the soil until the trees died without the call. He probably would have gotten caught, the call just sped up the process.

I asked why you thought people were saying that a tree's life is more valuable than a human life and you came back with quoting my post to you to "crawl in a hole and die". Am I missing something here?

You have something against trees?

Everything that relies on the air around them as well as the necessary food and water to sustain themselves deserves to live. That includes plants, animals, and humans.
