Toomer's Corner Poisoned

It's beyond idiotic, even borders on psychopathic, to even make a comment that a human should die to avenge some trees, much less to direct it to someone on a message board over a post.

Who was making this comment to avenge some trees? I just think you are an ignorant slut with your comments about Alabama. You really think TN's trailer to people ratio is any lower than Alabama's?

You have something against trees?

Everything that relies on the air around them as well as the necessary food and water to sustain themselves deserves to live. That includes plants, animals, and humans.

No. I have a problem with people who value trees over human life. I guarantee I've planted more trees than any of these moron hippies. I'm heavily involved in putting the American Chestnut back in the GSMNP. My wife got me involved and its a great deal of fun.

Kind of dumb for anyone to act like this isn't a big deal. Poisoning 130 year old trees (which means it would take 130 years to replicate. I know full well how old some trees in the world are, but 130 year old trees are not overly common in the South) over a game is psychotic.

Again, outside of a few idiots, who is saying the trees are more important than human life? You are assuming that anyone who is pissed off about this wants to go kill the guy.

I'm very certain this guy should be put away, for the safety of others. He has got to be insane.

You sir, must not be well traveled. If you had been, you would realize that a 130 year old tree is no big deal.

Oh wait, we're not supposed to want to kill him?

I lived in Alabama. I was actually an auburn fan before I moved there, primarily because I hated bama so intensely. After living there I realized that bama fans are actually classy, just delusional, but auburn fans are white trash and equally delusional. Rolling Toomers corner is no more a tradition than the "woo" in rocky top. The only true tradition for auburn alumni is appearing on Springer.

I live next to a forest filled with 150 year old trees. Unlike Bamacheats, I've seen the pictures of the Reconstruction South, with vast swaths of land devoid of trees. I realize that most trees around Southern cities are less than 80 years old. Also, it's killing something over a GAME. Something that took 130 years to arrive at it's present state. Not to build a home with, or make tools out of... just for a GAME.

Disagree.

You want to watch a civil war break out amongst UT fans, start a thread on whether or not you should "woo" at the end of Rocky Top.

Be that as it may, you have to understand that trees have been on this planet longer than we humans have. The least we can do is show respect for them and let them live.

Correct.

Your ignorant post have put Alabama residents and Bammers/Barners in the same category which is completely retarded. And who are you to dictate to a fan base what is tradition and what is not. Toomer's Corner is a big deal to them and has been for years. What you think about it has no bearing on it being a legit tradition or not.

Right. If it didn't mean anything, this guy wouldn't have thought to do it, and it wouldn't be a freaking national story. It really is the equivalent of someone jack-hammering the Rock into dust.

Anyone else wonder how this guy was able to walk around Toomer's Corner with a large container of herbicide, and no one stopped him? They have a 24 hour live webcam set up.

This guy might be Batman.

First of all this is about sports, not life. Secondly, its about bama vs. barn. Why are Vol fans so venomous about it? It may be a few idiots but guess what side of the fence those few idiots are on? Not mine.

The guy took it too far. I don't think it warrants jail time just a fine equal to replacement value. Auburn can get 50 yr old replacements which will already be a tad more than half the original size. Replacement will probably cost somewhere in 6 figures plus replacing soil which I have no idea what would cost.

It is a cow college, so I would imagine that that sort of thing is normal to be walking around campus with.

Kinda like putting a crocadile on fl's media guide?

Nope, all UF fans were embarrassed by that.

Some UT fans are embarrassed by other UT fans who woo. There are definitely woo and anti-woo factions in your fanbase.

I'm here to tell you, if I was a UT fan/alum, I'd be wooing my ass off at the end of Rocky Top.
