To everyone on this site who complained how the sky is falling and oh how the Vols are now just a second thought, I'd like to point out how we're back to being in the top 10 again. We are TN! We will finish strong! And we are going to be singing Rocky Top next year after the Florida Game ... and it won't be with ole' Kithead!

Does anybody know why J.C. Copeland opened his recruitment back up since he said all along he was firm?

Please remember that those rankings mean nothing until the LOI's are "signed"

It does mean something. It means momentum. if we were going the other way, it would look like the program was in serious trouble and not as many people would be thinking they should join us. Now we look like things are headed up instead of down. recruiting is a whole lot of hype with little real substance. No the LOI's arent until NSD but the momentum is definetly back. Dooley has done a terrific job so far and has ADDED some great players.

No, I would not say that's the only reason. I would say it did come in to play. But look at who we have currently as our qb's. The Crimson Avenger who couldn't beat out Crompton when Cromptoon was STILL stinking up the joint. Simms who appears to be a little bit of a baby and might not have the best work ethic, Bray who is going to be awesome but will redshirt probably, and Lamesion (sp?) who by all acounts is never going to play. If Bray is red shirted and leaves his senior season this guy could start one year. Or if Bray gets hurt he could be up to bat. I honestly believe his iq has more importance at this level than arm stength. Montana was known for not having the best arm and he worked out well. Same with Young and he worked out well too. I actually believe Chaney sees something in him and I believe it will actually play at some point.

We finish Top 10 and Double D already has my vote as coach of the recruiting season. How in the hell could we have expected such a great job of shoring up the currents and getting some of the others? I'm very excited about this development and can't wait to see if the coaching matches the recruiting. Good things could be coming our way! GBO!

6th in the SEC, 3rd in the SEC East.

Once you break top 10 with players it becomes pretty much an "on any given day" kinda thing. There is not much difference between the 2 and 10 spot honestly.

Only real difference is amount of players. if we pick up 1 more 4 star we jump to 7 above Penn State and right behind USuckit. We pick up another 4 star and we're ahead of Usuckit.

Lets be honest, though...
All those late pushes made on signing day will probably allow other teams to climb above us.

Agreed. I think the "final" Top 10 is gonna be tough. It all comes down to Rogers. He could really boost us a few spots.

fl, bama, ok, lsu, auburn, are pretty much at max class. Not much room for them to move around. We max out our class and we'll finish top 10.

I think Stephens will start next year and do as well as the players around him allow.

After that, one of these guys is going to become the man for 2 to 4 years. Judging by the first couple of weeks, DD is going to surround that QB with very good talent. IOW's, someone is getting the chance of a lifetime. One or more of the others... will get to transfer.
