scout is awful. they do a horrible job of updating rankings throughout the year and pay little to no attention to senior seasons. they also tend to highly rate only the players that attend their scout combines. they simply do a very poor job in comparison to rivals

Scout does not update regularly. When all is said and done it it will be closer. Scout does not do near as good job with stars as Rivals does traditionally as well.

Soundbite I keep hearing is that rivals is better at breaking news and being first, and scout is better at prospect evaluation, for what it's worth...

Given the situation, time frame etc. DD was thrust into, not to mention just having Chaney and Thompson to help, DD has done one hell of a job. What he has accomplished so far dwarfs what Kiffin and co. did last year, with far more time and coaches.

No chance this class finishes ahead of USC. We're only 3 points above them as it is now and that's with us having 8 more commits.

As much as I want to get excited, we still will not finish ahead of them. Look at the average star rating for their prospects, the amount of scholarships they have left, and the talent they are still in on. DD has done a great job holding this class together and adding some good talent to it though. It really doesn't matter whether we are in the top five or top ten if we don't add a few Olinemen though.

haha.....depends on how many we end up with and how many they end up with.......in 2008 we only go 18 players committed.....that was really a big bust for us.......maybe USC only ends up with like 20, and we end up with 29? you never know, but I agree wiht you that if they get over 20 you can basically forget it.........

Historicly which one has been more accurate with the analysis of prospects? That should be the factor on which one does a better job with the analysis and in turn their rating/rankings.

Nothing would be better than X having some defections come NSD....

The bad thing is that USC is 1 behind us with 8 less recruits.... All those 5 and 4 stars sure do help the RANKINGS....

I'm cool with where we are, though!! GREAT JOB DD!!!:rock:

I agree but for one day, as they lay their heads down, they have to look up at us! And we are doing this without a full staff. Things are better than we thought they were going to be 2 weeks ago.

Another way to say it is you can only ever have 11 men on the field at any one time. If our 11 is as good as their 11 then other factors determine the outcome. Factors such as homefield adv. and coaching quality.

i predicted we'd jump Usuckit at the beginning of this thread, I go to a meeting, come back and bam we're ahead of USuckit and closing in on LSU. V,B!
