Remember a lot of folks who are going into revisionist history about things from that were Pearl's last year. The truth is you don't give a crap about the program as long as Martin stays. Sadness, and most of you aren't even grads.

Agree. But the AD did a poor job of replacing him, Now, we are stuck with CM for at least another year or two.

? I have no idea what the hell your saying. Also wth does being a grad have to do with ****? If you think you know more about UT basketball than other people on this board because your a "grad" your an idiot. I hate to tell you but just cause your a grad doesn't mean you know **** and you prove it everytime you post. One thing I hate is people who think there better than everyone. No your not better than anyone cause your a grad. You don't know more than everyone cause your a grad and you definitely don't love/care about UT more than anybody because your a grad. Cut it out with that ****

Really hate to see the program fall back into the pre Pearl apathy, but I fear it's headed there with another disappointing season in the making.

What does being being a grad have to do with anything? I don't need to be a UT grad to know Martin isn't living up to the billing.

Cut from the same mold? BP woulda ran thru a wall for UT at one time. Lane wouldn't have ran thru finish line tape in a walkathon for UT. IMO

Their common sense seems pretty similar tho. :)

When I say cut from the same mold, I don't mean how they acted for their limited time leading the Vols. They're both used car salesmen at their core. Both of them will do whatever they view as necessary to further their chances. I liked both of them, and I don't hate either of them now.

There is no such thing as common sense. Not enough people have sense for it to be common. For example, vol fans having a civil war with vol fans over replacing a coach that is still our coach with one that never will be again.

The real point is that I see them both doing what they must to get to what they consider a destination job. For Lane, that was USC. For Bruce, we were about as destination as it could get. If after one year, Bruce got an Indiana offer, he'd have been gone. He learned while he was here, though, that he wasn't going to get much better.

Could UT have, over time, shown that to Kiffin? Sure. But we didn't have the amount of time to do that.

Do I think we're in a great position with Butch? Definitely. Do I think we'd have been winning double digits over the last 3 years with Kiffin? Definitely.

Coaches are fickle and we were lucky (initially) to have someone who stayed for so long. I think Butch calls this a destination, and we're lucky for that, too.

What the record in close games? 4 2 or 3 years starters and they can't win a close game. Sad. Toughness my $%$&#%.

There isnt that much wrong with this team cosmetically. It is much deeper than that.
