Because Schofield and Fulton will be starting at guard. And both will be very good guards next year.

C Crowder
RG Stone
RT Fulton
LG Schoefield
LT James

I like that OL a great deal. Dallas Thomas has been completely awful at tackle, Shaw is graduating, Pope will not contribute again, Gooch has been a disappointment.

I also expect Hood to have meaningful snaps next year at OT.

Dallas Thomas will be better at RT than Fulton would be. Fulton is not a tackle. Dallas Thomas' struggles this season have been way overblown. He will benefit greatly by James being able to move over and man LT next season. Thomas will be a very solid RT next season.

Maybe we should start Devrin Young at tailback too. Grow up Peter Pan, they aren't going to being in a freshman Center to immediately take over a starting spot to sit a Junior with a full year of experience (Thomas). He will probably shift to RT and JJ to LT. The interior will be Schofield, Fulton, Stone. Book it.

Abb you are so right, freshman OL do not start over juniors and seniors...wut? This year that is hilariously false at UT? oh....

Dallas Thomas is a guy who may be hanging on to the ankle injury excuse for a long time. I could have gotten around him on an edge rush. I have not been that angry/embarrassed for a UT lineman in a long time. The Sullins walk ons were not abused like Dallas. He looked like a freaking matador.

We had no choice this year, next year we will return all but ONE of the current offensive line. Thomas may not be all-world, but he'll be one of the most experienced OL on the roster AND will probably be better served playing on the right side. Bottomline is this, Crowder will not start and more than likely will redshirt.

Shaw is a senior.

I knew that. Brain Fart.

Point was the best 5 will play and we have no clue who that will be and in some cases what position that is... although I do think itll be:

LT- James
LG- Schofield
C- Stone
RG- Fulton
RT- Richardson (With Thomas probably starting the first couple games)

Crowder will start at C while Stone is still on the roster.
Stone can't match his on field IQ or his athleticism and after a yr won't match his strength. Mark it down.
Mack is genetically engineered for C.

Coaches have found their center in stone..Started with POPE to GOOCH and now STONE. I do not see any change heading into the spring or next year. :good!:

By midseason he will have found 'a spot' in many places in his life I suppose. But if you are implying 'a spot' on the starting lineup then you are setting yourself up to be very disappointed with Richardson. If you even mean 'a spot' in a regular rotation then I am worried you will be disappointed. Richardson has tremendous future potential at tackle. However, he is not prepared to come in and play right away.

This thread should get saved. Steelervol will probably be the one to bump it when the Mack Truck is announced as the starting center.

Sometimes people use IMO and do not come across as pompous, but other times people act as if they know something for a fact when it is not only speculation, but is wildly unfounded. Crowder redshirting is hilarious. I do not know who ABB is, but I hope he is a very young man with plenty more time to stitch up his britches.

You are condemning people for being definitive about the fact that Crowder wont start. And then you are doing the exact same thing in stating that he will definitely start next season. Seriously! You obvious have some bias in the situation. Stone was a highly recruited, physically talented, and exceptionally smart player on the OL. The coaches and other OL are amazed at how he knows every lineman's job for every play. Perfect formula for a center. Unless there is some type of setback in his snapping, Stone will be an All-SEC center. But yeah, we will just replace him with a true freshman from day 1.

Let's remember, in good program's you don't want freshman to start. Let's hope this year has been a exception in many ways.

BTW: I know next year we'll have freshman starting, and getting playing time as well, but I don't think it will be anything like this year. Want > need.
