Top 25 players nationally(IMO)...Hopson/Harris included

yep - when a guy does it enough times, he's legit.
He's 'AA legit. He won't kill in the pros, but that's irrelevant to the Naismith. Kid's a winner and absolutely the dominant offensive player in every game he plays. Leonard is clearly the best overall player when they play and will be a better pro, but Fredette has the biggest impact right now at this level.

No one in the nation can stop Sullinger? Michigan State held him to 11 points and 2 rebounds. Michigan held him to 12 in the first meeting at Crisler. Fredette hasn't had a game in conference play where he's scored less than 21 points. I think that's pretty incredible.

I think he has the potential to be Jeff Hornacek, who was a very nice pro. Jimmer's not quite as good of a set shooter, but more athletic (and a little smaller). He wants to play point though, so who knows.

Even if Jimmer is dropping 40+ against the likes of TCU it's still impressive. We haven't had a guy come close to that all year and we've played some bad teams. We'd be ecstatic if Hopson had dropped 40 on Belmont.

tOSU won both those games. I didn't see them but maybe they lost by focusing so much on Sullinger the rest of the team cleaned up. Beat MSU by 10, and Sullinger only missed 2 shots against Michigan in the game you referenced.

Jimmer doesn't play in the big 10.

Thoughts?
Both of the Morris brothers should be on that list. Hopson and Harris should not be. Nolan Smith needs to be added in the top ten. Get rid of Singler. Jacob Pullen is overrated.

to be honest, i havent watched much of him, so this is may be way off. but i feel like BYU plays a joke schedule. and if their schedule isnt very good, i question the talent of the players defending Fredette. I feel like eventually he will get covered by a long, quick guard that is more athletic than he is, and shut him down. No one in the nation can stop Sullinger.... i feel like Fredette can be stopped. does that make sense?
Don't kid yourself. The Mountain West is as good as the SEC and not far behind the Big 10!

I love Scotty, but I can't see rating him higher than Kalin Lucas, Nolan Smith, Isaiah Thomas and a few more that come to mind that didn't even make your list.

Jimmer Fredette probably wins NPOTY unless Kemba Walker keeps up his level of play
all season.

Also, Marcus Morris is overrated IMO

Looks like I was right on Fredette and way off on Morris.

I have watched Fredette play a good amount now and I can't compare him to anyone I have ever watched play the game of basketball. I think he is as close to unguardable in the NCAA right now as you can get.

I am constantly befuddled by the full sprint 3 pointers he hits 2-3 of a game that would make any coach in america sick.

BYU is a legit final four contender IMO, they have the ability to outscore basically anyone in the country. They are a jump shooting team and we know those teams can go cold and lose to anyone as well.

Fredette HAS to be in the top 5, if not the top 3. Irving doesn't even belong on the list considering he played, what, 5 games? I'd put Hamilton from Texas much higher. Where the heck is Nolan Smith (Duke), and why the heck is Ravern Johnson even in the conversation? Lots of players can shoot, not just Ravern. Last, I would have Kawhi Leonard on the list (SDSU).

Would yall agree on Hopson being a top 25 player this year? This is a year where we lack a true 'star', and their are a lot of 'good' players. I see Hopson in this "upper level" in college basketball.

Thompkins will be higher as the season goes on however, all of his major categories are down from last year(it's early however).

No, maybe top 40.

About 4 or 5 games ago, most on here thought he sucked.

Regarding Jimmer, Steve Kerr was quoting Tim Legler as saying that He shoots quicker, and from more distance, than anyone currently in the NBA.

whether that's true or not, I don't know.
