1. Bill Snyder
2. Gus Malzhan
3. Art Briles
4. Urban Meyer
5. Nick Saban
6. Steve Spurrier
7. David Cutcliffe
8. Rich Rod
9. Mike Leach
10. Sonny Dykes

Who've you got?

Any list with Nick Saban lower than 1 is bogus IMO

I think Bill Snyder is a tremendous coach. Top 5 currently. But no resume compares to Saban's

Snyder won 11 games in 6 out of 7 years from 1997 to 2003. When he took over they were considered the worst program in America, and had went nearly three years without a win.

Saban is winning football games at the program with the most wins in SEC history. Snyder is winning at probably the worst program in Big 12 history.

If Rich Rid had accepted the Alabama, you'd be telling me that any list without him at top was invalid.

Having the most talent does not mean you are the best coach.

He won NCs in the toughest conference in America at 2 different schools.

Everything else you write is irrelevant.

He has the best talent around. And how well did he do at Michigan State?

Winning at Alabama and LSU does not impress me. You're supposed to win there! Look at his record at Michigan State. Brett Bielema had a more impressive record.

10-4. Every coach wins NCs at those schools.

Also, Bill Snyder plays lesser talented teams with his less talented team.

Michigan State is a tougher place to win than Wisconsin.

Alvarez had Wisconsin rolling before Bret took over

I see you left out his 6-5, 6-6, and 7-5 seasons at Michigan St.

Bill Snyder beats Texas and Oklahoma on a regular basis. Those are not lesser talented teams.

They are lesser talented than what plays in the SEC.

I see you left out Snyder's early records.

Nice job against North Dakota State.

He is 7-11 against ou.

Really? You'd take the Wisconsin job over Michigan St?

Wisconsin is a much bigger/better football program over the last 35 years than Michigan State.

Dantonio is the first successful coach in a long time who hasn't used MSU as a stepping stone.

EDIT: today was MSU's first Rose Bowl in 25 years

His early records were extremely impressive! He won 1 game his first year, they hadn't done that in 3 years!

And if you exclude his first 5-6 years, that records pretty good.

So. He isn't the best coach in America. That's absurd.

NDSU loss alone states that.

2004: 6-6
2005: 10-2
2006: 6-7
2007: 7-6

Yeah, you're supposed to win at Bama every year. Saban turned MSU around, he turned LSU around and he turned Bama around. Bill Snyder is a great, HOF coach. but he's not even close to as good a coach as Nick Saban is. To think otherwise is just stupid. However, the guy leaving him off his list might be just as dumb.
