Enjoy your prom...the Selby recruitment hasn't gone well enough to let it be on your mind, IMO. Besides, it will be a nice surprise for after prom....hopefully not your best surprise of the evening.

RoganBerry is the one who posted the info about Tobias being told by Selby that he would be a Vol. RoganBerry sometimes does radio with Tony Basilio on 1180 and has some connections.

He's probably waiting until Selby says Kansas, then he'll be here to talk about how he told us and how we were all 100% sure he was wrong. Then he'll talk about how he's our saint looking out for us by making sure we dont' get our hopes up.

Then 2 years later when he hears something a little early, he'll be here to let us know then, too.

I have a hard time believing this. I don't know who posted this or whatever, but everyone seems to think Kansas now, and it seems like the coaches thought that as well.
I like keeping my hopes up, though.

man we are gonna be really good next year.. with or without selby, although it would be pretty awesome to do it with him. lets just quit worrying so much about it. reading these threads just gets my hopes way up on one page, then breaks my heart on the next. people keep saying totally different things so confidently like they know it for a fact. lets face it, at the end of the day were all just gonna watch the announcement and hope for the best.

Selby said he likes the family atmosphere...our team is always calling themselves a family with how close they are. He also said he wants the opportunity to play for someone that will get him to the next level.

I don't believe he will have to worry about the school getting him to the next level as he can probably already go. So let's hope he has decided to play with our family.

"KUFAN" trolls our board over at the KU ESPN affiliate (theshiver.com), and, uh, yeah, he don't read or write too good (as a born and raised Kansan, that's how I'm supposed to talk, right?). For those of you bagging on Lawrence, my guess is that either

a) You haven't ever been there.

or

b) You haven't ever been there.

It's a great college town. Plus, let's be real here. Wherever Selby ends up, he'll be spending 1, MAYBE 2 years there. And he'll be eating, breathing, sleeping basketball from the moment he sets foot on campus. Not exactly a prison sentence.

One last point. Being from the South I assume you guys deal with stupid stereotypes from outsiders on occasion. I live in LA currently, and people here actually believe me when I joke about how I used to ride a horse to school. Stupid. That said, I always think it's weird when people from other Midwestern/Southern states try to dig at each other with "rural smack" and don't see the hypocrisy in it. It's like, come on now. Come with something a little better, ya know?
