I have believed all along that Kansas was the likely pick all along and felt as late as yesterday afternoon/evening that his recruitment was basically over. But after talking with some people today I can confidently say that it will be a SHOCKER if he doesn’t announce for Tennessee tonight.

My only prediction I feel confident about is that after this ordeal is over, there are going to be some people asking their good sources what the hell happened.

Well, here’s what I know:

I know a guy very much involved in the Baltimore AAU circuit (obviously that’s not anything definitive, but he is fairly knowledgable) who told me yesterday that it was Kansas. I was reading the various rumors on TOS about Selby until about 2 last night and some people were claiming Tennessee still had a chance. I thought those people were just blowing smoke, but this morning I texted the same guy just to make sure he hadn’t heard anything new. I asked him what he knew and his reply was “after last night nothing would surprise me.” Then I read a thread on TOS at about 2:20 this afternoon titled “Selby is a Vol” ([URL="http://tennessee.******************.asp?fid=2251&tid=142193527&mid=142193527&sid=879&style=2”]LINK[/URL]) in which the poster claimed he was at the O&W game and some bball players showed him a text from Selby confirming he was a Vol. I texted a former Vol (Pearl era player who still hangs out with some guys) and asked if he could confirm the story on TOS, his reply was “Yes."

It may be nice to hear that, but it has been back and forth way too much. Former players isn't enough to convince me. It's not that I don't trust them, it's that I have no idea what is going through Selby's and his mom's mind. I'll believe he's a Vol when he signs.

Either way, I'll wait for him to sign. I don't think your sources are liars, and I'm not saying Selby is either, but from everything I've seen and heard during the recruiting, it's never over with this kid.

Man, I have no sources; I'm just passing along what TOS is saying. And you're definitely right; this doesn't prove anything. I was just letting you know that current players supposedly are the ones with the text confirming it.

I have no "inside" knowledge of his recruitment (and I suspect most people here dont either) but I'd say it's 60-40 KU right now. I'd be surprised if he signs with us- I feel like we never win these things.

I've had several sources confirm that Tupac will be with Selby when he announces. Tupac is going to make a brief statement concerning his faked death, Selby will commit to Tennessee, and then the two of them will announce that they will be forming a rap group with Aaron Douglas called "Double Stuffed Oreo". TIFWIW.
