The speed with which we score has zero bearing on how good our defense can be.I know Tennessee struggles in the secondary but at the same time aren’t those stats inflated due to the opposing team getting a lot more possessions against Tennessee due to the pace that’s played?
So you think we have the talent in the secondary that LSU had? Who in our secondary is the equivalent to Kristian Fulton and Derek Stingley Jr.?
Definitely. Also think JH is purposely playing bend don’t break D…keeping the ball in front of us and avoiding big gash plays and making teams execute down the field and make them kick field goals, knowing we win if opposing team kicks field goals…that part has largely worked. We are also weak at DB, but let’s not pretend we have our roster where JH wants it in Y2 of an ahead of schedule rebuild. Pretty much every other unit on O and D is playing above expectations. Our DL run D and QB pressure is another big reason we are undefeated…major props there! These numbers are so skewed. I agree our secondary is weaker but with the T.O.P and how quickly we score, your asking a lot from the defense. Injuries don't help but even being at full strength, it still wouldn't look pretty.
Our blitz packages are awesome and have helped us win games and protect the secondary.Definitely.
