Total Miles On Your Vehicle

198k on my 97 Celica. Plan on taking it well past 200K. I may have it resprayed in the spring.

Only thing I've had to do outside of the ordinary maintenance stuff is clean the throttle body/IAC once after throwing a CEL. Not a single thing (outside of typical stuff like brakes, struts, etc) has been replaced. Love that car.

It's making a rattling sound more and more often. I suspect the guides for my timing chain have failed. I found out they're made of plastic. Eventually it will cause enough wear on the chain that it will need to be replaced. Which is a huge pain in the ass (I can't do the work which means it will be expensive). The rattling started a couple years ago so I'm not sure how much longer it will take. Don't really want to drive it until it fails

Is it an interference engine?

For some reason the Kelly blue book value on my car is really low. Maybe because saab went out of business?? Anyway the cost of the repair will equal what the trade-in value of my car is worth

your still probably better off fixing it, and avoiding a car payment, if you were to trade it in, and buy a new car

'13 Altima 8,500
'12 Tacoma 12,000
'01 Accord 289,000 - only routine maintenance and A/C compressor changed

Yeah, if it were me, I would fix it now since it likely has quite a bit of life left in it. Then I would do bare-bones maintenance (basically just oil every once in a while) and run it into the ground.

Up to 131k. Driving 120 miles a day now.

Starting to hear a loud vibrating/ grinding sound. Afraid it might be one of the belts or transmission.

342, 912 miles ..1972 Ford Pinto, 4cyl ...5 speed ...blue in color...They don't make cars like this one these days.

I'm about to invest in new tires once I get it leveled. Can't decide what size tires as of yet though.

is it 342 or 912 miles? Or is the odometer broke and every time you hit a speed bump those are the two numbers it bounces to?

And you have the wrong color, my 72 Pinto was zinc chromate, better known as "baby **** yellow"

Ha ha.. have to take it easy over them speed bumps, the gas tank may explode if they are hit too hard.
$1, 999.00 Brand spanking new, one should expect a few hiccups . I never had the pleasure of owning one. I did have a 1974 Vega. I think they were about ss bad as the Pinto.
