Solar Eclipse Glasses Warning:
https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/publications/safe_glasses_flyer.pdf
How to tell what are safe glasses:
Look for BOTH:
1. Manufacturer Name (For example, American Paper
Optics, Rainbow Symphony, Thousand Oaks Optical,
Baader Planetarium (AstroSolar Silver/Gold film only),
and TSE 17)
2. ISO Icon (Must have ISO reference 12312-2)
Other tips:
1. If lenses have scratches, dont use
2. If lenses are wrinkled, not safe for viewing the eclipse
3. If older than 3 years, not recommended

We already have the most awesome pharmacist, even though she's a uga grad and I fight with her all the time. Anyway, just went and picked up some medicine, and she told me she had ordered the glasses for her store, and should be there by the weekend. She said she'd put enough back for my bunch, and give them to us whenever I stop by again. I know they're not that expensive, but pretty nice of her.
Why are semi intelligent people buying these paper glasses and thinking they're better than the $200 ray bans they already have? Can someone please explain. Wtf is wrong with some of you
oh gotcha. You're all buying paper glasses so that you can look DIRECTLY AT THE SUN FOR 3 MINUTES STRAIGHT. And you all think these paper glasses will protect you. And I'm a product of Darwinism. Got it. Well by all means, buy your goofy ass glasses and look away. Thought it was a given that no sane person would stare directly at the sun for long periods of time. Didn't realize I had to point out the fact that yes, I will be wearing ray bans that day and no, I will not be staring head on into the sun for 3 minutes straight.

You can view a TOTAL eclipse with the naked eye if and only if you are in the path of totality and you only view it within the short period of time that the moon is COMPLETELY blocking the sun. Before and after that you must be wearing protective eye glasses. If you doubt yourself or the timing then keep them on the entire time.
