Trade Wars and Tariffs

Buffet is also a value investor. I couldn’t imagine he’d ever pay nearly 500x earnings. If anything he typically preaches against (his mentor Graham definitely did) new technology

PLTR’s EPS is only a few cents. That’s not far from a multiple of infinity. The forward p/e gets halved.

But my point is still valid. Buffett preaches buying great businesses and PLTR checks many of the boxes even with his conservative approach.

He also preaches metrics based value (p/b, p/e, etc) and being wary of technology stocks.

It took him a decade or two, but a tech stock eventually became 50% of Berkshire’s public holdings representing a quarter of the value of BRK. But AAPL is also a consumer stock.
Buffett wasn’t the one executing the trades at Berkshire when they purchased their holdings in Apple. That was one of his two appointed lieutenants. As I recall, while he later praised the move, he said that he would not have made those purchases because technology stocks weren’t his strength.

I wouldn't count it out, by any means. I love that we are working WITH the Mexican government on this one. If we have to intervene, I would hope that is a limited resource and that they would handle the responsibility once things are under control. It's been out of control for so long -- bad enough that many of my Hispanic patient families avoid traveling back due to safety concerns. Ridiculous, really.
If the US goes in, it will have to be a scorched earth type operation. I’d say the cartels are like cockroaches and hard to get rid of.

"The Foreign Ministry insisted China has “one of the strictest and most thorough drug control policies in the world,” so the fentanyl crisis is a “U.S. issue,” not China’s problem. Fentanyl was one of the major reasons Trump cited for imposing tariffs."

And yet you sell the ingredients to fentanyl. Eff off.
